TRENDS:

Too Close For Comfort. While performance is key, consumers are not willing to give up comfort in their footwear for anything. The term ìless is betterî may apply to this seasonís outdoor footwear genre, as simpler more practical-driven styles are hot.

Speed. The days of three-day hikes are over; folks are looking for the in and out in a day trail hikes, and they want the gear to go with it. Lightweight, athletically-built scramblers that, of all things, donít need to be replaced when the hiking shorts come off, and the chinos go on.

The Graduates. White athletic shoes still failing to make the grade, the earth tone comfort performance shoes are taking home diplomas. From school to office hallways, classic hiking and rugged low and mid styles dominate.
