Old Greenwich, CT, Summer 1999 - For Spring 2000, LOWA is introducing their line of Active Traveler footwear. These shoes include many of the same components found in LOWA's classic and all terrain collections. They offer more support than regular sneakers but are light enough for city sightseeing through easy hiking. For those visiting wetter climates, the line includes two Gore-TexÆ models, the Shannon GTX mid cut and the Samalo GTX low cut version. Two leather lined shoes for more all around weather use include the mid cut Montana for ladies and the Brasilo low cut for men and ladies. The line features the rugged ATC Travel sole, new colors and detail work targeted to a fashion conscious market.

LOWA's Active Traveler shoes have the same emphasis on last and sole construction as their mountaineering and all terrain models. The aesthetic appeal, however, is geared to lifestyle and street use. The lasts are designed for an out-of-the-box comfortable fit. The ATC Travel Sole is rugged and provides good traction for smooth cement to cobblestone surfaces to easy hiking trails. Combined with an injected PU midsole plus plastic stabilizer element, they also feature enhanced shock absorption and cushion comfort. All models are constructed with Nubuk leather.

The mid cut Shannon Gore-Tex for men is available in Navy or Sepia and for ladies in Navy or Taupe at a Suggested Retail of $165. The low cut Samalo Gore-TexÆ comes in Asphalt/Black for men and Asphalt/Navy for ladies with a Suggested Retail of $150.

The mid cut leather lined Montana Ladies is offered in Navy or Taupe and carries a Suggested Retail of $125. The low cut leather lined Brasilo is Sepia/Black in men's and Taupe/Black in ladies at $110 Suggested Retail.
