3T ARX II Pro Stem 3T ARX II Pro Stem
The engineers at 3T aren't (quite) rocket scientists, but they do seem to recognize a solid design when they've produced one. We're pleased to report that the ARX II Pro Stem's popularity throughout the self-sponsored peloton hasn't escaped their notice, and it returns for another model year with all of its original upgrades to the ARX Pro intact but nothing more besides an updated graphic. With its time-tested 2010 alloy construction and +/- 6 degrees of rise, the ARX II Pro all but guarantees the safety of your cycling ship and all those aboard. The most obvious change from the ARX Pro to the ARX II Pro is that the length of the stem is slightly flattened on the sides. 3T notes that this creates a sleeker profile than the original ARX, but we also notice that it brings the cross section more in line with the squared-off edges of stems like the Integra, which use sharper angles to increase resistance to the torsional flex that can eat up watts while you're pulling on the bars in anger. The face plate's top and bottom have also been trimmed up, bringing the bolts together and reducing both the aerodynamic footprint and the weight -- the ARX II Pro weighs a claimed 5g less than its predecessor at 135g. The stem's hardware marks yet another point of departure, switching from Allen to Torx/star bolts, which is a less immediately obvious difference that, if overlooked, may frustrate the unprepared mechanic. The faceplate attaches with the standard complement of four bolts, but the steerer clamp only uses one, contributing yet more weight savings.

3T ARX II Team Stealth Stem 3T ARX II Team Stealth Stem
There's a time and a place for loud and flashy. Sometimes that place isn't the cockpit of your bike. The 3T ARX Team II Stealth Stem adds a touch of elegance to your cockpit with a subtle, matte black finish that downplays the Team stem's stiff, lightweight performance. The Arx II Team continues the original's tradition of simple, classic construction -- but with a design that drops grams from its already low weight. The ARX Team takes the classic, tubular design of the ARX and further refines it with slightly flattened sides and a sculpted faceplate. The ARX II Team stem's faceplate crimps in tighter at the top and bottom, which results in an ovalized appearance. However, even with the new shape, 3T was still able to retain its hallmark cut-out logo. This generation of the ARX also sees a more precise installation process than previous models. Instead of a traditional four-bolt Allen assembly, the ARX II features a Torx assembly at the faceplate and a single M6 bolt to clamp the stem to the steerer.

Campagnolo 11-Speed Alloy Bar-End Shifters Campagnolo 11-Speed Alloy Bar-End Shifters
Campagnolo 11-Speed Alloy Bar End Shifters have been a long time coming. In fact, it took Campagnolo a full two years to unveil bar end shifters after their introduction of the 11-speed drivetrain. In typical fashion, Campagnolo has made these worth the wait. The reason for our excitement is that they use a return-to-center function. The ergonomic benefit is obvious to anyone who has ever time trialed: Gone are the days of hyperextending your fingertips to push the lever into your highest cogs. Even better, the lever position can be adjusted to suit your bar layout and your preferred grip. Like their Ergopower levers, the 11-Speed Bar End Shift Levers can make sweeping gear changes. This allows you to shift up to three gears at a time, up or down the cassette. Of course, you can also make single gear changes. The front shifter shares the same basic function as its Ergopower counterpart. It features indexed movement that allows you to easily and accurately trim the front derailleur to accommodate any front/rear gear configuration. And after each shift, the levers return to their pre-set center position. These Campagnolo 11-Speed Alloy Bar End Shifters have a compression plug that allows their installation in any modern time trial or clip-on aero handlebars. Just remember when you install them, our photo shows these as you'd see them while on the bike. They come with a Campagnolo stainless steel inner shift cable and housing set.

Campagnolo Power Torque BB30 Adapter Campagnolo Power Torque BB30 Adapter
BB30 was the first new bottom bracket standard to appear in the aughts. Cannondale devised it and made the standard available to everybody. Today, the BB30 ranks are swelling. It makes sense that Campagnolo would offer a cupset to adapt their Power Torque cranks to the BB30 standard and thus we sell this Campagnolo Power Torque BB30 Integrated Bottom Bracket Adapter. Once installed in your frame, your Power Torque crankset will slide right in. Bolt the two halves together and you'll be ready to ride. The BB30 standard refers to a 68mm wide shell with a 42mm inner diameter. Note: Be sure to install the adapter with the groove on the drive side and install the wire clip after you insert the drive side crank assembly.

Campagnolo Power Torque Bottom Bracket Campagnolo Power Torque Bottom Bracket
If you're buying a Power Torque crankset, then you need a Power Torque bottom bracket. The Campagnolo Athena 11 Power Torque Bottom Bracket mates perfectly up with the Athena, Centaur, and Veloce Power Torque cranks. From the outside, these cups look almost identical to the bottom bracket cups that work with Chorus, Record, and Super Record. But they're different. The right side cup functions the same as the right side cups on those other bottom brackets; it's a shell that you fit the right-side crankarm bearing into and an external clip to holds the bearing/crankarm in place. But the left side is different. Owing to the long spindle on Power Torque cranks, the left side cup already has a bearing pressed into it rather than the cup being empty and the bearing affixed to the left crank fitting into the cup. So, to repeat, if you're buying a Campagnolo Power Torque crankset, then you need a specific Power Torque Bottom Bracket. The Campagnolo Athena 11 Power Torque Bottom Bracket is available in English (68) or Italian (70) threads and are anodized a Dark Grey.

Campagnolo Record 11 Cassette Campagnolo Record 11 Cassette
A cassette is like a soccer referee--you hardly even know it's there if it does the job perfectly, but it can ruin an entire event if it doesn't. If we keep that analogy rolling, the Campagnolo Record 11 Cassette is a hall-of-fame level official, one that can only really be appreciated after you've had to deal with the crappy dad-refs of the world. The Record 11 is virtually identical to the Super Record 11. The only meaningful difference is that the Super Record features six titanium cogs, the Record features only three, in the three easiest gears, while the other eight cogs are made of nickel-chrome-coated steel. Apart from this, the two cassettes are identical. The Record 11 features the same Ultra Shift technology, which includes things like cog-tooth synchronization (for easy and snappy chain transitions between cogs) and certain shark-fin teeth (to encourage easy upshifting). It's designed to work with ErgoPower shift levers to make shifting 13% easier, according to Campagnolo, and the whole thing weighs just 24g more than the Super Record, a weight gain that's more than offset by the increased durability.

Campagnolo Super Record 11 Cassette Campagnolo Super Record 11 Cassette
Campagnolo's Super Record 11 Cassette boils down to buttery-smooth and hyper-responsive shifting. Campy's top-tier groupset features Ultra Shift technology, meaning each and every tooth of the Super Record 11 cassette is shaped to perform a specific function. Whether the chain is being lifted or lowered, Ultra Shift relieves pressure on the chain, the rear derailleur, and the cassette itself. This results in unbelievably quick and quiet shifting that you can rely on. The Super Record 11 Cassette is built with both titanium and steel, providing the perfect combination of lightness and durability. The six largest cogs are made out of titanium, lightening the cassette considerably. Because the smallest cogs see more use and thus wear faster, Campagnolo built these with a sturdy nickel/chrome-coated steel. In addition to shaving weight with the 6 Ti cogs, the Super Record 11 cassette features a lightweight alloy lockring and a splined aluminum frame, which also increases the overall torsional stiffness.

Campagnolo Super Record 11 Ultra Torque Bottom Bracket Campagnolo Super Record 11 Ultra Torque Bottom Bracket
The Campagnolo Super Record 11 speed Ultra Torque bottom bracket is hardly a component. The CULT ceramic bottom bracket bearings themselves are actually pre-pressed onto the Super Record 11 crankset semi-axles. When you buy a Super Record 11 Ultra Torque BB all you get is two empty bottom bracket cups (read: no bearings), plus one safety spring to hold your driveside crankarm in place while you install the non-driveside arm. You can install the Ultra Torque Super Record bottom bracket cups with Campagnolo's UT-BB120 bottom bracket installation tool, or with the same Park BBT-9 tool you use to install Shimano Dura Ace BB cups. Campy specifies a 35Nm torque for installation. One other detail of note: The Super Record bottom bracket cups are hard anodized for corrosion-resistance. Unlike the silver color of the Record 11 bottom bracket cups, the Super Record cups have more of a pewter finish. Available in English (68mm) or Italian (70mm) threads. While these BB's are stamped with "11 Speed Only" on the cups, please rest assured that Campy 10 speed and 11 speed bottom bracket cups ARE 100% interchangeable. Clement LAS Tire - Tubular Clement LAS Tire - Tubular
The fact that the folks at Clement named the LAS Tire - Tubular after the airport code for the location of their favorite stateside 'cross race (Las Vegas) should tell you two things about its development. First, it's made by people with a real passion for the sport. Second, its design is informed by actual cyclocross experience, not some computer simulation software in a sterile lab. This is Clement's speed tire, which is evident in the tread. The center strip of the tire is a fine nail-file tread that gradually builds up in size to a row of full-blown knobs on the shoulders. This design grants speed in the straights and confident control in the corners and technical spots, recommending the LAS for dry, fast, grassy courses. Its tubeless construction and reinforced sidewall decrease your chances of flatting at an inopportune time, making this tire a sure bet. The removable valve core makes for quick application of liquid sealant.

Clement X'Plor MSO 60 TPI Tire - Clincher Clement X'Plor MSO 60 TPI Tire - Clincher
Whether you dream of gravel rides in the shadows of the Sapphires or you're lucky enough to call the trails of Missoula's Rattlesnake Recreation Area home, Clement's X'Plor MSO Clincher tire was made for the combination of gravel and road riding that the area is known for -- a point driven home by the fact that MSO is the airport code for Missoula, Montana. The brand formerly known for its iconic road tires has shown its desire to change with the times, delving into the world of cyclocross with a tire inspired by Montana's winding trails against backdrops of pristine alpine lakes. At home on gravel and hardpack, this fast-rolling tire was designed with a smooth, evenly-spaced center tread that keeps it feeling quick and responsive with raised shoulder lugs for grip while cornering on unpredictable surfaces like gravel and grass. Clement constructed the tire out of soft rubber to give it consistency and shock absorption on terrain from woodland paths to the 'cross course. At the end of the day, the tire takes on the pavement as well as it does the dirt, so your coast back into town for a cold, frothy beverage with be as smooth and quiet as your day in the mountains.

DT Swiss 180 Rear Road Hub DT Swiss 180 Rear Road Hub
On paper, it would seem almost a pointless exercise to try to improve upon DT Swiss' 240 hubs, -- given their stellar quality, reputation, and the fact that you can find them on some of the finest bikes in the world -- but the company's engineers managed to do just that by creating the DT Swiss 180 hubs, the Rear Road Hub here being one of the best on the road, and arguably worth every penny. Whereas the 240s front hubs use a forged aluminum shell that houses stainless steel bearings (balls and races), the 180 revises the entire design of both the shell and its internals. The aluminum flanges remain, but they are joined in the center by a carbon fiber central tube, a structure that sheds even more weight, and we think, looks pretty sweet, too. The bearings, however, are where the biggest improvement is made, upgrading the 240s house-made precision steel balls to ceramic ones, dramatically improving durability and service life of the bearings, while also noticeably reducing rotational resistance. The result is a featherweight hub that rolls with glassy smoothness and can be counted on to last for many, many miles. Further, thanks to the DT Swiss labyrinth seal system -- non-contacting seals that utilize an asymmetrical path to resist moisture, muck, and grit -- your bearings will keep their magical smoothness over the long haul, virtually regardless of riding conditions. In addition to the way it sings on fast descents, the 180's Star Ratchet freehub system is legendary for its simplicity, durability, and instant power transfer. The ratcheting freehub offers tool-free access for routine cleaning and lubrication, and the freehub body is made of aluminum to maintain a lightweight package. Finally, to accommodate both symmetrical and asymmetrical rim designs that are becoming more popular as drivetrains increase in number of increments and frames become ever-more advanced, the 180 rear hub's flanges are designed to make it possible to build it to virtually any rim type.

Easton EA90 Stem Easton EA90 Stem
The Easton EA90 Stem sheds grams for race-minded riders, without sacrificing structural integrity or performance. Its EA90 aluminum tubing is the result of a 3D forging process, yielding Easton's lightest aluminum stem to date. Looking closely at the stem's faceplate, you'll immediately notice the EA90's Distributed Stress Technology or DST, as referred to by Easton. This technology widens the junction between the faceplate and handlebars where the four bolts clamp down, distributing stress over a wider area for extra peace of mind when you're using lightweight aluminum or carbon fiber handlebars. Note that this stem comes in two rises, 0 degrees (sometimes referred to as 90 degrees) and +/- 10 degrees (sometimes referred to as 80/100 degrees). The steerer tube's height is 40mm, and two opposing bolts secure it firmly in place to minimize stress. The EA90 comes with a 31. 8mm handlebar clamp and 1 1/8th-inch steerer clamp only.

FSA Alloy PowerBox Power Meter Crankset FSA Alloy PowerBox Power Meter Crankset
Getting into the power game can be a daunting prospect, but FSA--in partnership with Power2Max--lowers the bar for entry with the PowerBox Power Meter Crankset. The PowerBox is undeniably one of the most affordable models in the power meter industry, but suggesting that it's an entry level option isn't quite accurate. A downloadable system update (available from September 2017) changes it from a single-leg meter to a dual-leg meter. It's built to grow with you, not to be outclassed once a category upgrade means a single leg meter is no longer accurate enough to give you the detailed info you need on race day. Out of the box, the meter measures power in a single leg and calculates total output to an industry-standard +/-2%. It wirelessly transmits those numbers to ANT+ head units, and Bluetooth compatibility is also available with a system update. FSA's BB386EVO design also provides virtually limitless compatibility, as you're never more than a simple adapter away from fitting the 30mm spindle to whatever standard your frame's bottom bracket shell adheres to.

FSA Ceramic Bottom Bracket Assembly - BB86/BB92 FSA Ceramic Bottom Bracket Assembly - BB86/BB92
We've sold ceramic bearing retrofit kits for years and we've always appreciated the fact that FSA has offered ceramic bearings as standard equipment before it was a universal craze. Ceramics offer a measurable reduction in friction. Like improving your aerodynamics, having ceramics makes you faster, but it'll do so with a lot more money left in your pocket. The FSA BB86 Ceramic Bearing bottom bracket will fit BB86-specific bikes from Scott, Giant, or the ever-growing variety of other frames built with an integrated bottom bracket shell that measures 86. 5mm wide x 41mm i. d. The kit comes with two of FSA's sealed ceramic cartridges. Each of the 37mm x 24mm x 7mm bearings are pressed into a forged and CNC machined aluminum sleeve that has a 41mm o. d. and is chamfered to allow an easy start for the press fit into the bike. They have a 1. 75mm thick shoulder that sits flush against the frame's bottom bracket shell to provide a positive stop. FSA uses black plastic dust shields to augment the rubber seals built into the cartridge bearing. The shields snap into a small groove machined into the inside diameter of the inner race and run freely with no drag. The FSA BB86 Ceramic Bearing bottom bracket assembly is all you'll need to mate your crankset to a BB86 specific bike. It comes with the two bearing assemblies and a small syringe loaded with FSA's special ceramic bearing grease formulation. Actual weight is 64 grams. For use with FSA cranksets only

FSA K-Force Light Nano K Compact Handlebar FSA K-Force Light Nano K Compact Handlebar
Full Speed ahead might not always get credit, but many of their early ideas later become the norm in cycling. Take compact gearing for instance. FSA ushered in the idea of using smaller chainrings to achieve lower gearing helping cyclists on long climbs and eliminated the dreaded triple. Now years later, most road bikes come complete with compact or mid-compact cranksets. Compact dropbars are another area FSA helped pioneer. Having drops that weren't excessively low encouraged riders to use them more often for better aerodynamics and helped cyclists and fitters find more comfortable positions. FSA uses new materials to save weight without decreasing stiffness or durbailty in the K-Force Light Nano K Compact Handlebar. Carbon Nanotubes are carbon molecules having a unique interlocking cylindrical nanostructure. In FSA's Nano-K products, these carbon nanotubes are combined with carbon fiber and resin to yield a carbon composite material with increased torsional strength and stiffness. Out-of-the-saddle climbing and overall handling won't feel like a wet noodle. These tubes not only exhibit unique electrical and thermal properties, but are the stiffest and strongest materials to date. These traits allow FSA engineers to use less material so a size 40cm bar comes in at an amazing 185 grams, while maintaining the same stiffness for top performance. The material is also super strong in compression so bolting on the controls and stem faceplate clamp to the textured surface isn't a fighting affair. The 80mm reach and 125mm drop offer a comfortable reach to the hoods and the drops don't put you in a position that is so low you won't likely use them. A 2-degree flare at the drops increase wrist clearance while sprinting. UD carbon finish and a splash of white and red add a flash of color to the front end of your ride. The K-Force Light Nano bar sets a new standard for performance and comfort.

FSA OS-99 Stem FSA OS-99 Stem
Let's get one thing out of the way--the OS-99 Road Stem is the lightest stem that FSA makes, and no, the "7050 aluminum body" isn't a typo. By using a proprietary 3D forging technique and special heat treatment ("witchcraft" is the technical name) FSA makes the OS-99 as strong as a heavyweight stem but as light as a part made of pure carbon fiber. To be fair, the faceplate is built partially from carbon, to achieve the perfect balance of strength and weight, and the unbreakable bolts have been forged from titanium, so the OS-99 isn't pure aluminum. The faceplate also has a serrated surface that will grip both carbon and aluminum bars, and a rise of +/- six degrees, depending on which way you set it up.

Gravity Components Adjustable Seatpost Gravity Components Adjustable Seatpost
Simplicity isn't usually a word that we associate with the latest, greatest enduro gear; however, Gravity Components' Adjustable Seatpost proves that, in a discipline this gnarly, simple reliability is worth its weight in gold. Unlike the pricier, more finicky models we see failing year after year on our local trails, Gravity Components' Adjustable isn't a fully hydraulic affair. Instead, if features a self-contained hydraulic mechanism that's actuated by cable. The cartridge itself isn't serviceable, which may turn off some of the more ambitious home wrenches among us, but everyone else can rejoice. Instead of bleeding lines and worrying about delicate servicing operations, Gravity Components' hydraulic cartridge is designed to be removed and straight-up replaced. The post is designed for internal routing, and the cable tension is adjustable. Of course, no internal mechanism is worth its salt -- let alone its weight in gold -- if its body wilts under the duress of off-road abuse. The post's alloy chassis is shot peened, a process that involves firing dense beads at high velocity into the metal. These tiny impacts created a layer of compressively stressed material on the seatpost's surface, which makes the post's overall structure more resistant to fatigue by virtually eliminating the formation of microcracks.

KS LEV Dropper Seatpost KS LEV Dropper Seatpost
Not only does the KS LEV Dropper Seatpost offer the reliably smooth travel that makes KS dropper posts some of the most popular on the market, but it also shaves precious grams with its titanium clamp bolts, carbon lower clamp, and carbon remote lever. Reducing weight even more, its PowerCordz cable is 75% lighter than the stainless steel line that's used on most dropper posts. The rest of the post is made of aluminum for durability. As expected from a high-quality dropper, the LEV Dropper Seatpost uses hydraulic internals that remove play/excess movement from its design. However, most impressive is the stationary connection near the non-moving part of the post. This provides a better fit that's customizable to your frame without the cable bunching up or getting in your way, as there's no need for the excess cable to accommodate seat movement.

If a dropper post isn't already a key feature of your XC setup, you're already behind the times. Made from lightweight and burly aluminum, it has an internally routed cable to prevent twisting, breaking, and catching, and KS's patented one-way roller clutch bearing, which provides infinitely adjustable settings and eliminates the side-to-side play common with most dropper posts. On top, the seat rail clamp has two angled bolts for micro adjustments and increased strength, while the handlebar remote is designed to replace the inner ring of an ODI Lock-On grip for a streamlined and comfortable assembly. The Integra's braided cables are rugged and reliable, and come with barrel adjusters to help you dial in the correct tension for reliable and precise seatpost adjustments without the fuss.

Magura USA Vyron eLect Dropper Seatpost Magura USA Vyron eLect Dropper Seatpost
Dropper seatposts are soaring in popularity, and the days of an internally-routed design being enough to garner attention from the public are slipping into the past. In the race to improve upon an already great invention, Magura has secured the distinction of being the first company to release a wireless dropper post with its Vyron eLect Dropper Seatpost. Using proven ANT+ technology, the Vyron eLect is compatible with the same remote that Magura uses with its wireless suspension forks and shocks. If you're already riding with a wireless Magura fork and shock, you can use one remote to control all three components or choose to separate them and use multiple remotes. With the remote able to be mounted on either side of the bars, you have plenty of options for customization to take advantage of a one-by drivetrain's left shifter vacancy or fit it in a crowded cockpit. The eLect still relies on rider weight to actually move up and down, with Magura's imperial Royal Blood hydraulic fluid providing a smooth transition as you lower and raise the seat to adapt to changing terrain. In terms of battery life, Magura states that a full charge will gain you 400 actuations of the dropper, which equates to about two months for most riders. If you happen to be caught on the trail during your 400th engagement, the seatpost does work for up to 20 "emergency" actuations via buttons on the post itself, so you aren't stuck riding your last climb of the day with your knees bumping into your chin. Once you need to recharge, expect about three hours for the eLect's battery to make its way from empty to fully charged in any USB port.

Maxxis All Terrane EXO/TR Tire - Clincher Maxxis All Terrane EXO/TR Tire - Clincher
When you take your first look at the 'cross course you'll be racing on this weekend, you know that mixed weather conditions necessitate a tire capable of taking on a bit of everything. Rather than a skittish fast roller or mud-flinging bruiser, the best tire for the job is one that won't be intimidated by squish, but can turn around and snap to attention when you hit a dry berm. Fortunately, Maxxis' All Terrane EXO/TR Tire was made for these kinds of days. Wrap your race hoops in the All Terrane and you'll be ready for variable conditions with a wide, open tread shedding mud quickly in soft spots, and a 120 TPI preventing you from getting bogged down. Tall, square knobs grab hold of the dirt when the course turns rutted and sloppy a few laps in, but their ramped positioning on the tire allows for quick acceleration when the dirt dries and you need to open it up heading into a flyover.

Maxxis Rambler TR Tire - Clincher Maxxis Rambler TR Tire - Clincher
If this 'cross season finds you with a full race calendar and a strong preference for gravel, Maxxis' Rambler TR Clincher Tire may become your security blanket. Made with durable, dual-compound rubber and a race-ready 120 TPI, the Rambler features a gravel-specific tread that's also prepared to hit the hardpack. The tires' center features tightly packed center knobs to keep you moving quickly on smooth singletrack and dirt, while increased spacing on the side knobs add grip and dependability on trails. The tire is available with two levels of protection, EXO and SilkShield. EXO involves a flexible, cut-resistant fabric layer in the sidewalls, which helps to reduce, well, cuts in the sidewalls from flint gravel roads. SilkShield involves an anti-puncture material that reinforces the entire casing, helping to reduce the risk of flats from bead to bead. Both protection models are tubeless-ready, which adds yet an additional element of puncture resistance.

PowerTap G3C Hub PowerTap G3C Hub
Ceramic Speed bearings are said to be the lightest, smoothest, and most durable bearings on the market. When you read about pro teams replacing stock bearings with ceramics, Ceramic Speed is the company they rely on. These bearings are hybrid ceramic, with steel races and rounder-than-round ceramic balls. They're the ne plus ultra of the bearing world and are the upgrade that transforms the PowerTap G3 Wireless Hub into the G3C Wireless Hub. They run smoother, and they shave 10g off of the total weight of the G3 rear hub. G3 is short for Generation Three. Much like the G2 hub, this one chops a prodigious amount of weight off the previous version, but it does much more than that. The G3 design looks like a conventional hub, with a Matte Black finish and smaller diameter that masks the hub's purpose. This is only the most obvious of the changes. A much bigger deal is the new electronics configuration. They're now attached to the left hub cap rather than to the hub body, and they're able to be serviced without sending back the hub or rendering it useless. That the brains of the hub are able to be serviced without sending back the wheel is huge. Just about every single powermeter ever produced, whether it's a hub, crank, or a pedal, it needs to be serviced at some time over its operating life. Until now, you've needed to give up your precious meter for days, or even weeks, to get it worked on and returned. We've witnessed power fiends get despondent and desperate, trying to figure out how they can source a spare powermeter for the duration of the absence. Now, you're able to get a spare cap with all of the electronics before you send yours in. And shipping is simpler and cheaper when you don't have to stick a wheel in a box. Another improvement that comes with this change is a single CR2032 watch battery powers the transmitter. These batteries are easier to source and replace than the two 357 batteries found in the older hubs. The battery should last for approxima...

Ritchey WCS Carbon C-260 Stem Ritchey WCS Carbon C-260 Stem
Typically, a stem body and faceplate each wrap 180 degrees around the handlebar. Ritchey's WCS Carbon C-260, on the other hand, wraps a full 260 degrees. This distributes forces more evenly across the handlebar, faceplate, and stem body for a stronger, safer, and lighter interface. The WCS Carbon C-260's body is 3D forged from 7050 aluminum that's internally machined and enhanced with Ritchey's Matrix carbon exoskeleton. The enhanced alloy/carbon structure allows the 100mm-length C-260 to achieve a sub-115g weight. Another way Ritchey kept this stem so light is by using T-20 Torx bolts. Instead of two five- or four-millimeter hexes to clamp the steerer tube, three smaller T-20 bolts end up not only distributing forces more evenly, but they also save weight. The CEN-approved WCS Carbon C-260 Stem is claimed by Ritchey to be 14 percent stiffer than the full Alloy C260. The Ritchey WCS Carbon C-260 Stem is available in the Carbon color and in sizes 70, 80, 90, 100, 110, 120, and 130mm.

RockShox Reverb Stealth (B1) Dropper Seatpost RockShox Reverb Stealth (B1) Dropper Seatpost
Don't make the mistake of thinking the Rock Shox Reverb Stealth (B1) Dropper Seatpost has been sitting comfortably for all of these years, content to rely on its name and impressive legacy rather than change with the times. While you've been barreling through rock gardens and earning a few new scars on your old Reverb, RockShox has been quietly overhauling the Reverb Stealth's design. This year, it unleashes some serious changes like travel-specific post lengths and a wider range of squish options to bring it up to speed with the discipline-bending enduro monsters multiplying by the day on the trails. The expanded post lengths and travel options are good news for taller riders who find the range offered by traditional lengths to be slightly lacking on either end of the spectrum. RockShox didn't just adjust sizing for taller riders, though. Gleaming new internals stand at the ready inside the seatpost, complete with SKF internal seals keeping the grit out as well as rearranged bushings. The repositioned bushings mean that slacker seatposts won't interrupt travel anymore, and you'll experience a smooth glide, rather than a jump, every time you engage the remote. RockShox couldn't find room to improve the already impressive cable routing on the Reverb, and the clean design remains reassuringly unchanged for this model. Free of excess cables and complicated fitting, the Stealth's cable runs subtly through the internal seatpost routing space most modern frames are now built with, but a mechanic can adapt an older frame by carefully drilling a hole. Mount the hydraulic actuator on either side of the bars, and in exchange for a few regular bleedings, you'll enjoy supple actuation ride after ride.

Selle Italia Lady Gel Flow Saddle Selle Italia Lady Gel Flow Saddle
Finding the perfect saddle is an overwhelming experience, especially when a rock-hard racing saddle is too little, and most 'women's saddles' are little more than over-padded bar stools. For this very reason, Selle Italia created the Lady Gel Flow Saddle. Essentially, it strikes an ideal balance between the aforementioned extremes. So, whether you're happiest on winding roads or dusty singletrack, this saddle will be just right. Comfort was the primary concern with the Lady Gel Flow, so Selle Italia employed a nylon base that blends support with a comfortable flex. Aiding in the comfort factor is the shape, which combines a generous 160mm tail width with a medium 262mm overall length. The result is a saddle that supports your sit bones, without being so wide that it gets in the way when you're pedaling. Furthering this theme of targeted support, a pressure relief channel runs down the middle in order to direct your body's weight to your sit bones. Why' Well, because the sit bones are far more adept than your soft tissues at supporting your body's weight. For further comfort, Selle Italia incorporated a layer of gel underneath the hard-wearing Lorica cover. Basically, this protective buffer cancels out much of road vibration. But, unlike those terrible gel seat covers that you may have seen, the gel used here is thin. So, it provides plenty of support, even after long days in the saddle. Supporting the entire saddle are Selle Italia's Manganese Tube rails. These rails are both strong and lightweight. So strong, in fact, that Selle Italia rates this saddle for off road use. And no matter where your ride takes you, the vibration absorbers in the aft of the saddle will take away the sting. So, you're able to ride this saddle pretty much anywhere, and it will be equally at home. The Selle Italia Lady Gel Flow Saddle is available in a 160x262mm size and in the colors Black and White.

The manganese rails are heavier than the model with the titanium option, but, when perched atop a 6in enduro monster, the extra grams are hardly noticeable. This added grabbiness enhances the ass-to-saddle relationship, helping to translate body English into bike English while muscling through corners and questionable lines.

Thanks to incorporating the recently adopted dual-pivot design into the 105 brakes, the Shimano 105 BR-5800 Brake Calipers have even more consistent stopping power than before. Rather than using the mounting bolt as the pivot bolt, Shimano now uses a plate with a separate center bolt to attach to the frame. In this way, the brake arms are now centered above the wheel, which means equal braking pressure to the rim when the lever is pulled. In addition to more stopping power, the new BR-5800 brake calipers also allow you to run tires in widths up to 28 millimeters.

Shimano optimized the ratios between each and every cog to provide smooth shifting and make sure that your cadence increases or decreases by equal amounts, regardless if you're shifting between the two biggest cogs or the two smallest. No jumps between gears means smooth, easy pedaling, which equals less fatigue and fewer losses of momentum, so those tough hills will float by a little bit easier than they used to.

Shimano Dura-Ace CS-R9100 11-Speed Cassette Shimano Dura-Ace CS-R9100 11-Speed Cassette
Shimano's groupsets often often miss call-outs for European elegance or relentless pursuit of weight loss at all cost and innovation for innovation's sake, instead earning their loyal following through the incredible dependability and meticulous engineering of the Dura-Ace CS-R9100 11-Speed Cassette. 9100 isn't a typo there, it is, in fact, a newly reworked version of Dura-Ace. When the brand introduces a new groupset, you can be sure it's actually boasting improvements you don't have to be Porte or Stannard to detect on a routine Sunday in the saddle. The latest release of Dura-Ace 9100 delivers subtle, thoughtful tweaks to an already intelligent collection of moving parts, retaining the romance of mechanical shifting that's becoming less common each year. The cassette adds new combinations of gearing options, including expanded options for gearing appropriate to rouleurs, climbers, and the puncheurs who demand the best of both worlds. Shimano saw no need to improve the cassette's feathery construction, trusting the same proven combination of titanium and nickel-plated steel cogs and an alloy and carbon carrier that Dura-Ace 7900 introduced two generations ago. Since Dura-Ace is the top-tier drivetrain in the Shimano road lineup, you might be surprised that only the largest five cogs are titanium. That's because--though it's lighter--titanium is generally more prone to wear than nickel-plated steel, and the smaller cogs are more prone to wear than the larger. Because of these material properties, Shimano only uses titanium where the softer metal doesn't create a significant negative impact.

The hubs also feature Shimano's Digital Click Adjustment, which actually refers to your fingers, not some sort of high-tech electronic device operating in a virtual world. Once you've loosened the hubs with an Allen key, you can adjust hubs with your own fingers -- no cone wrench required. The freehub body and axle are titanium and aluminum, respectively, to keep the weight down. Finally, we noted earlier that the cup and cone bearings in these hubs are serviceable. Shimano Ultegra 6800 Brake Calipers Shimano Ultegra 6800 Brake Calipers
Going balls to the wall is fun until you take a corner too fast and end up limping home, resembling a zombie-movie extra. To save you from looking like a card-carrying member of the undead hordes, Shimano redesigned the Ultegra 6800 Brake Calipers, with plenty of inspiration from the industry-leading Dura-Ace, to offer improved stopping power, more sensitivity, and smooth, easy action. Traditionally, Shimano's brakes have used a single-pivot design, but the Ultegra 6800 uses a dual pivot, which allows the caliper to be placed symmetrically over the tire. Combined with a cable that runs directly out of the middle of the caliper, this gives the 6800 balanced tension, so braking forces are distributed evenly to both sides of the caliper for smoother, more reliable braking. The arms feature a friction-reducing twin bearing system that allows them to pivot extremely smoothly, so you get instant and sensitive feedback from even light touches to your brake levers. Shimano also designed the Ultegra 6800's arms to lie closer to the rim, which provides more sensitivity with less effort. Feathering your brakes will be a silky smooth experience, and hard braking won't require the grip strength of a gorilla. Even the new brake cables have smooth low-friction design. The Ultegra 6800 is also set up to accommodate thin brake pads, perfect for riders rocking wider 28mm tires.

Shimano Ultegra CS-6700 Cassette Shimano Ultegra CS-6700 Cassette
Shimano's Ultegra-level cassettes are one of the gems of cycling components. Significantly cheaper than the top-line Dura-Ace offerings, they're also more durable, and only slightly heavier. And, they're heavier in the center of a wheel, where their effect is negligible. Shimano's improved its shifting ramps on this iteration, too, meaning the fabulous shift quality you expect from the Japanese component giant is even better than you remember.

Shimano Ultegra CS-HG800 Cassette Shimano Ultegra CS-HG800 Cassette
Ultegra might be the heart and soul of Shimano's line, and while we appreciate the precision, weight, and performance that goes into Dura Ace, we find Ultegra to be the perfect sweet-spot in the price-to-performance ratio. Shimano has created gear ranges in the Ultegra line for the most elite road cyclists to gravel grinders, and everything in between, so riders can achieve the sweet Ultegra feel no matter what they ride. In this particular iteration, Shimano creates the Ultegra CS-HG800 Cassette to fit on a mountain bike hub, so those running big touring setups or cross-bikes can now run the smooth shifting feel of Ultegra, and with the huge 11-34 tooth range you won't have issues finding the sweet spot to pedal your way through any adventure. Shimano's experience in machining and engineering allows for exceptional amounts of technology to go into tooth design, shaping, and shifting ramps. Made from nickel-plated steel, the cogs themselves withstand corrosion and are tough enough to hold up to abuse, which leads to a cassette that stays smooth shifting and precise for longer than before. By opting for nickel-plated steel, it does add a bit of additional weight, but allows for a price that's much friendlier to those of us who have to shovel out our own cash for components. To increase stiffness and improve shifting, Shimano groups the top five cogs as three and two, and rivets them to anodized aluminum spiders that add strength. The remaining six cogs remain as individuals, along with spacers between them, and a lock ring made of anodized aluminum to screw into your freehub and hold the assembly together snug. True to Shimano's Japanese culture--which has a name, poka-yoke, for built-in preventions of user error--one spline of the cassette is wider than the others and corresponds with the splines on the freehub, so the cassette cogs can only be installed with the right clocking of the shifting ramps, timing them for perfect chain pick-up and release. Shimano Ultegra CS-R8000 Cassette Shimano Ultegra CS-R8000 Cassette
Shimano's Ultegra group is one of the most popular out there with good reason: it's the perennial favorite when you factor the performance-to-dollars equation. With different demands for drivetrain ranges required for road, gravel, and CX riding, Shimano has created cassette ranges designed to allow the R8000 drivetrain to easily satisfy the needs for a variety of riders. The Ultegra CS-R8000 Cassette ranges as high as 32t, so you can set up the new Ultegra (or Dura-Ace R9100) with the range you need for gravel epics, 4 corner crits, hill climbs, junior nationals, and everything in-between. Shimano's experience in forging, machining, and engineering allows for an enormous amount of technology that goes into tooth design, shaping, and shifting ramps. The cogs themselves are constructed from a nickel-plated steel that prevents corrosion and is slow to wear. Ultimately this leads to cassettes that shift smoother and more precisely--and last longer--at a price that's friendly to the self-sponsored racer. The top five cogs are grouped as three and two, respectively, and are riveted to anodized aluminum spiders that add stiffness to improve shifting. The remaining six cogs are individual with spacers between, and an anodized aluminum lockring screws into the freehub to hold the entire assembly together. Shimano Ultegra cassettes shift so well and are so unnoticeable that even World Tour teams will often sub Ultegra cassettes to get the bikes to the minimum weight limit. Frames and wheels are just so light these days, and adding mass to the cassettes isn't too detrimental to performance, and the Ultegra units shift on par with Dur..

Shimano Ultegra Di2 Remote TT Shifter Set Shimano Ultegra Di2 Remote TT Shifter Set
While electronic shifting has several advantages for road bike, the advantages are even greater for TT bikes. Of course perfect shifting, no more dropped chains, and the lack of moving, oddly routed cables and housing are advantages for everyone. But the big difference between TT and road bike shifting is hand position. Not only is shifting on aero bars awkward and inconvenient, but there is a moment while you're grip is changing that's actually kind of dangerous. Shimano Ultegra Di2 Remote TT Shifters change all that with the touch of a button. Instead of adjusting your hand position on the bar, you simply touch the shifter button with your thumb, and it gives you a perfect shift every time. No more friction. No more cable adjustments. No more scary, out-of-control moments.

SRAM R2C 22-Speed Carbon TT Shifter Set SRAM R2C 22-Speed Carbon TT Shifter Set
The title of the SRAM R2C 22-Speed Carbon TT Shifter Set is pretty self-explanatory, except maybe the 'R2C' part. Of course, that's the part that really sets these shifters apart from the competition. R2C stands for 'Return to Center'--the 2 just makes it look cooler on paper. It means that after every shift, the shift lever returns to its original position. That's important because each shift requires exactly the same movement, without any awkward hand position adjustments. That center position is also adjustable, so you can start each shift exactly where you want to. The shift levers are made from carbon fiber to reduce weight and increase stiffness. SRAM designed the shifters to require the minimum possible amount of movement to complete a shift. The R2C 22-speed shifter set is designed for use with double front chainrings and an 11-speed cassette.

SRAM XG-1190-A2 Cassette SRAM XG-1190-A2 Cassette
You've ridden mid-range, workhorse componentry for years now, eschewing the latest and greatest for the pragmatic choice time and time again. If you're finally stepping up your drivetrain game, go all the way already and upgrade to Red. One of the defining members of the groupset, the resplendent XG-1190-A2 Cassette acts just as much as a work of art as it does a highly functioning member of your drivetrain, and it's been gifted with shiny new aesthetics this year to match the all new SRAM Red eTap components. Quiet and light are the defining features of the XG-1190, which SRAM achieves with its PowerdomeX construction and StealthRing elastomers that sit between each cog to eliminate noise. The technologies contribute to a quiet ride and clear, clean shifts that may leave you feeling like something is missing for your first few rides if you're used to clunks and jumps accompanying every shift. SRAM machines the entire piece for the utmost precision, with the middle nine cogs featuring a hollow construction to shave weight and further eliminate noise. If you want to follow SRAM's recommendations, pair the XG-1190 with the SRAM Red or PC-1170 chain, and use it with any SRAM componentry from Red eTap to Rival. Just don't try to pair an XG-1190 cassette wider than 11-28t with an eTap rear derailleur, as the two aren't compatible.

Stages Cycling Discontinued Shimano Dura-Ace 9000 Single Leg Power Meter Crank Arm Stages Cycling Discontinued Shimano Dura-Ace 9000 Single Leg Power Meter Crank Arm
Despite the noise some pros are making about banning them, even the steel-is-real, lo-fi purists around the Competitive offices concede that power meters are here to stay, both in terms of domestic recreational racing and on the Euro scene. Few meters can appeal to both crowds as effectively as the Stages Cycling Shimano Dura-Ace 9000 Single Leg Power Meter Crank Arm, which is priced well enough to appeal to the self-sponsored but proven on cycling's biggest stages with wins throughout the season, including multiple Tours. The crank arm itself is the same as the standard Dura-Ace 9000 left arm on your bike (and half the bikes in the peloton before R9100 was released), just with a Stages power meter affixed to its inner surface. Tucked inside this little pod, strain gauges and an accelerometer measure force and rotations to deliver power data to your head unit with a claimed accuracy of +/- 2%, which is in-line with other quality power meters on the market. The meter also incorporates Stage's Active Temperature Compensation (ATC), which compensates for the natural expansion and contraction of the strain gauges by adjusting the readings depending on external temperature. ATC accounts for those temperature changes without requiring you to stop pedaling in order to zero the system. Overall, the power meter adds less than 20g to the crank, which is a tiny tradeoff for its ability to capture power information as it transfers from the pedals into the drivetrain.

WTB High Tail Pro Saddle WTB High Tail Pro Saddle
As bikes get more and more travel-happy, components and accessories have to evolve to keep up. Saddles, though, are largely immune to changing bike design -- a seat's a seat, right' WTB disagrees, and so it teamed up with Chris Cocalis, the founder of Pivot Cycles, and Dave Weagle, inventor and namesake of the DW-Link suspension, to designed the High Tail Pro Saddle specifically to accommodate long-travel bikes that might otherwise buzz your saddle when the suspension is fully compressed. By shortening the saddle to 255mm and including a rear cut-out, WTB made sure the High Tail won't get buzzed on bikes with compact rear frames, big wheels, and plush suspensions. A shorter tail makes it easier to get your weight off the back when you're descending, and WTB's signature DNA padding and responsive-but-comfortable Flex-Tuned shell provide personalized and high-quality comfort. While the High Tail was made with DH and enduro riding in mind, it's light and comfortable enough to work as a trail, XC, or even road saddle, so don't hesitate to throw it on your ride of choice.

WTB Nano TCS Light FR Tire - Clincher WTB Nano TCS Light FR Tire - Clincher
Whether your adventure of choice includes rolling miles of gravel farm roads, hard-packed singletrack, dusty desert fire roads, or just a random mix of terrain, the WTB Nano TCS Light FR Clincher Tire has it covered. Although it's billed as a cyclocross tire, the 40mm width limits its utility for racing and we think this tire really shines while exploring the wild on off-road terrain. With a tread pattern that looks a bit like a miniaturized version of a hard-gripping trail tire, this tire provides sure grip on loose surfaces while its Dual DNA compound makes for a smooth, durable ride. What makes the Nano the legend it is comes down to that innovative tread pattern. One glance and you can see that it's unlike anything else. The center is made from a fast-rolling 60 durometer compound with a slightly elevated rib to maintain virtually constant contact with the ground, which makes keeping speed over hardpack or even pavement a breeze. Move toward the shoulders, however, and you'll find a softer, grippy, 50 durometer compound with pronounced, staggered rectangular knobs that bite hard into looser terrain to enable controlled cornering and responsive braking. The high-volume casing and relatively square profile equate to a smooth yet efficient ride.

WTB Riddler TCS Light Tire - Tubeless WTB Riddler TCS Light Tire - Tubeless
WTB's original 27. 5in Riddler may be the ideal trail tire: cornering grip, straightaway speed, and a generous girth that provides comfort and grip without getting top floppy. The Riddler TCS Light Fast Clincher Tire imports those same characteristics to the gravel bike world. Its 45mm belly eats up gravel and washboard abuse while the molars on the shoulders bite into sloughy stuff and the low-profile, tightly packed center knobs maintain grippy speed across graded gravel. The compound follows suit, with WTB's dual-compound situating soft, grabby matter at the shoulders and harder, faster rubber over the center strip. The Riddler is set up to run tubeless on any UST rim with the application of a sealant. While 23 and 25mm tires can actually gain weight when run tubeless, these burly donuts definitely benefit from ditching those huge tubes. Going tubeless also lets you lower the PSI, adding additional plushness when cushion and grip are at a premium. At this point in a description, we'd typically lay out a tire's limitations; with the Riddler 45, we're finding ourselves unable to do so. Bikepacking, gravel racing, all-terrain adventure cycling--the Riddler approaches any multi-surface scenario with gusto.

With a slight rise in the back and long, tapered nose, the Silverado blends comfort and control, and has just enough contoured DNA padding to keep you feeling like a million bucks on long XC or road rides. The carbon composite shell is responsive but not hard, and the Silverado's carbon rails keep the weight to a minimal 169g, so you can use it as a race-ready saddle or pair it with your everyday ride for a comfortable but high-quality setup.

WTB Volt Carbon Saddle WTB Volt Carbon Saddle
The Volt Saddle might be WTB's most versatile saddle. It comes in five models, with multiple lengths and widths, at prices ranging from a seriously friendly $40 to a slightly more committing $250, in the case of the Volt Carbon. While it's not cheap, the Carbon version of the Volt is one of the best saddles on the market, blending the comfort of WTB's signature DNA padding with the flex, power, and responsiveness of a carbon composite shell. The Volt has a slight whale tail, so you have something to push against, and a gently dropped nose that doesn't limit your riding positions. Carbon-fiber rails keep the Volt Carbon extremely light, at just 148g, and the versatile design works as well on road bikes as it does on your DH setup.

WTB Volt Pro Saddle WTB Volt Pro Saddle
If you're the kind of rider that shimmies around on the saddle a great deal, the WTB Volt Pro Saddle might be your ticket to comfort. When you find yourself riding off the back of the saddle, the Volt features a raised 'whale' tail that tilts your pelvis forward and leverages pedaling efforts with greater efficiency. As you slowly migrate forward in preparation for a difficult climb, the front of the Volt offers greater support while you hammer. This versatility, as well as the center "Love Channel" and efficient but flexible Flex-Tuned Shell, makes it a solid choice for road and trail enthusiasts.

WTB Volt Race Saddle WTB Volt Race Saddle
Every rider likes a comfortable saddle, but some are more prepared to shell out serious coin than others. If you're looking to save some green for other upgrades but want a saddle that can do it all, the WTB Volt Race Saddle is a good call. The only difference between the Volt Race and Volt Pro is the padding -- the Race foregoes the DNA padding in favor of WTB's standard padding, which doesn't offer quite the weight savings but keeps comfort levels high. If you find yourself riding off the back of the saddle, the Volt features a raised 'whale' tail that tilts your pelvis forward and leverages pedaling efforts with greater efficiency. As you slowly migrate forward in preparation for a difficult climb, the front of the Volt offers greater support while you hammer. This versatility, the central channel, and efficient but flexible Flex-Tuned Shell all make it a solid choice for road and trail enthusiasts.

Zipp 188 Freehub Body Zipp 188 Freehub Body
If you have a current set of Zipp wheels, they'll come with the new 188 rear hub. It's the one with the preload collar on the left side. Of course, they are available to fit Shimano/SRAM or Campagnolo, but we don't think your initial choice of freehub body design should lock you into a component group for the life of your wheels. This is why we're offering loose Zipp 188 Freehub Bodies. This way, you're free to choose what components you run on your bike since the freehub bodies are so easy to replace. This body is specific to the 188 hub. If you have the previous Zipp rear hub iteration, the Zipp 182, you need a different body, which we also sell. The 188s have a larger axle diameter. Zipp makes both Campagnolo-splined and Shimano/SRAM-splined freehub bodies for the 188 hub shell. A . 25 mm spacer goes between the body and hub shell in both Campy and Shimano-SRAM. If you are running Campagnolo 11-speed cassette, Zipp recommends putting a second . 25mm spacer between the body and hub shell.

Zipp Service Course SL Stem Zipp Service Course SL Stem
The Zipp Service Course SL Alloy Stem represents groundbreaking territory when it comes to the balance between cost, lightness, and performance. Its 3D forged 7075 aluminum construction is what gives it superb strength and stiffness akin to what you'll find on the standard version of the Service Course Stem. They're both built in the same tooling, so the smooth shaping is all the same. Each has its own unique finish, with this one being a lustrous black rather than matte. More importantly, the faceplate went under the CNC bit and got relieved of excess material. Along with having titanium bolts, this is the reason that this Service Course SL Stem is 10 grams lighter than its more modest sibling. The Zipp Service Course SL Alloy Stem is offered in seven sizes from 70 to 130mm in 10mm increments. Each length is available in two angle options -- the +/-6 option is ubiquitous these days, but the +/-17 models remind us of a bygone era where stems were dead flat and oh-so Pro. It has a 31. 8mm clamp diameter and is a perfect match for Zipp's handlebars. The 1-1/8" steerer clamp has a stack height of 42mm.
