Chrome 415 Work Boots Chrome 415 Work Boots
The Chrome 415 Work Boots offers you stylish footwear that is built to stand up to the day-to-day beatings of urban riding. Chrome uses the tough, 1000 denier Cordura for the boot's uppers, which is roughly the same material that they use for their incredibly resilient messenger bags. The 415 Work Boot features a board lasted sole for added support and comfort. The sole also uses a vulcanized rubber that is ultra-durable and skid-resistant, giving you excellent traction in all weather conditions. For added strength, Chrome reinforced the midsole with a nylon/glass fiber shank and protects your heel with a rubber heel cup. Steel aglets are used to prevent your laces from fraying. Lastly, Chrome includes a padded collar at the ankle for additional comfort and reflective rear loops for increased visibility when the sun goes down.

Chrome Storm 415 Work Boots Chrome Storm 415 Work Boots
A work boot needs to be able to "work" in any condition, which is why Chrome created both the 415 and the Storm 415 Work Boots that are featured here. With Chrome's Storm technology, the 415 combines the hardworking, waterproof durability that's required for daily riding with the laid-back San Francisco styling of its "415" namesake. Chrome constructed the uppers of the Storm 415 Work Boots from an oiled, full-grain leather. On top of this, the shoes feature the Chrome's Storm waterproof technology -- an internal membrane of four-layer breathable, waterproof fabric. And to make sure that absolutely no water get's through, Chrome also gave the Storm a fully-taped seam construction. The uppers were attached to the last and sole using vulcanized construction, which also provides a flexible, yet durable sole. At the footbed, Chrome used a contoured polyurethane that's impact-resistant and features a blown rubber midsole wedge for comfort. The soles are board lasted for pedaling comfort, which is really why Chrome created the 415 Work Boots in the first place. Outside of the 415's commuter advantages, Chrome made them to be the ultimate freestyle/lifestyle shoe. The heel is protected from bails by a rubber heel cup, and the midsole is reinforced with a nylon/glass fiber shank. The 415's moderate profile also makes it easy to get in and out of either toe straps or cages. So, you don't have to go down with the ship when the ship is sinking. Finishing off the shoes are steel aglets that keep the laces from fraying, a padded collar at the ankle, and reflective rear loops that increases your visibility to motorists in low-light conditions. The Chrome 415 Storm Work Boots are available in odd and even sizes from 5. 0 through 13. 0 and in the colors Black and Sand.

Diadora Phantom II Cycling Shoes - Women's Diadora Phantom II Cycling Shoes - Women's
We love to see manufacturers taking good technology from upper-end models and applying it to their more accessibly-priced offerings, which is exactly what Diadora does with its Phantom II Cycling Shoes. The brand takes fit inspiration from its pricier shoes and creates a lightweight, versatile option worthy of new cyclists and seasoned riders alike. The Phantom II's are built on Diadora's women's specific last, which accommodates the more dramatic heel taper and other subtle differences that separate women's and men's feet. Morpho A. M. uppers wrap around the foot to provide a close, contoured fit using a mix of materials that are resistant to stretching and wear over time. Air Mesh promotes ventilation, while Suprell-Tech, a light and tough polymer, provides structured durability. The included Sport Road composite-reinforced soles are stiff enough for efficient, responsive power transfer when pedaling and durable enough for the everyday abuse of a cyclist who races, trains, and commutes. Two hook-and-loop straps allow for quick and easy fit adjustments in or out of the saddle.

Diadora Phantom II Shoes - Men's Diadora Phantom II Shoes - Men's
Stepping up to clipless pedals and cycling shoes can be intimidating, especially if you're relatively new to cycling; however, if you're thinking about investing in your first pair, we recommend models like Diadora's Phantom II Men's Shoes. With a forgiving price and trickle-down technology from Diadora's impressive lineup of pro shoes, the Phantom II's will allow you to trade-in those worn out trainers and enjoy the vastly improved power transfer and comfort that a well-fitting pair of cycling shoes can provide. We like that Diadora constructs the Phantom II on its Race Plus last. Its roomier fit dispels the assumption that all cycling shoes are tight and constricting while allowing for extra layering in the cold months. For cyclists with a slightly wider forefoot or newer riders who don't want a confining shoe, the Race Plus last keeps the Phantom II secure on your foot without the aggressive, metatarsal-squeezing cut of a race shoe. Diadora's supportive Suprell-Mesh upper wraps the tops of the feet and includes perforations and mesh paneling to allow for ample airflow. In the notoriously difficult heel area of the shoe, Diadora adds its shaped heel cup to address slippage and allow for efficient power transfer throughout your pedal stroke. Also contributing to efficient power transfer, Diadora's Sport Road CR outsoles rely on composite-reinforced nylon to provide responsive stiffness as you spin the pedals. The shoes are finished with two hook-and-loop straps to achieve a secure, not constricting, fit.

Harmoniously balancing the needs of dedicated cyclists, the Diadora Men's Trivex Plus II Shoes offer fast-drying comfort, a truly customizable fit, and efficient power transmission. Supporting the shoe's upper, the Morpho A. M. Cage stabilizes your foot during rapid pedaling. Suprell-Mesh enhances moisture transport and evaporation for a pleasantly cool feel on hot summer rides. Along the inside, the anti-stretch EVA footbed softens the feel without stretching out, meaning it'll hold its shape through long-distance use. Securing the fit when you're hammering down straightaways and climbing steep grades, the Performance 4-point buckle ratchets incrementally for a customizable fit. Its large button release ensures a quick exit when you're finished riding for the day. Hook-and-loop straps confidently close along the mid and lower sections for added support. The upper strap features Multifit adjust, which gives you the choice of using two different strap locations to accommodate varying foot widths and shapes. Diadora Trivex Plus II Shoes - Women's Diadora Trivex Plus II Shoes - Women's
Regular training rides and long days in the saddle call for shoes that will keep your feet from feeling the miles while helping all of the power from your legs reach the pedals. Diadora's hardworking Trivex Plus II Shoes aptly fit this description, and with trickle-down technology from their pricier, top-tier counterparts, they'll leave you money left in your budget for other upgrades. Diadora uses its lightweight Suprell-Mesh to construct the synthetic uppers, adding ample mesh paneling and perforations to ensure air reaches your toes as you descend after long, hot climbs. These uppers are shaped around Diadora's women's-specific last, which teams with a molded heel cup and a more tapered shape to hold narrower heels in place throughout the pedal stroke. While Trivex Plus II's more palatable price means the absence of a Boa dial, the ratcheting buckle paired with two hook-and-loop straps allow for a wide range of fit adjustments before a ride and from the saddle to ward off painful pressure points. To provide you with responsive power transfer, Diadora includes its composite-reinforced Performance Road outsole. It's not as unyielding as full carbon would be, but with it, your feet will enjoy a stable, solid platform through which to transfer power and turn the pedals while you ride.

Diadora Vortex Racer II Shoes - Men's Diadora Vortex Racer II Shoes - Men's
Diadora's Vortex Racer II Men's Shoes are half pro-caliber trickle-down technology and half everyman all-rounder, which means they pack enough punch for hard and fast rides but are comfortable enough that you'll actually want to wear them. The upper is part of the former category, with Suprell-Mesh fabric that's built using Diadora's racing last and a pro-level heel cup that prevents slop when you're hammering up tarmac walls. To balance power and price, Diadora outfitted the Vortex with its Performance Road CR sole, a composite-reinforced platform that's rated a six on the company's stiffness scale. The sole is outfitted with a NET Breathing System, which uses a network of synthetic fibers in conjunction with a waterproof and breathable membrane to keep both sweat and the elements at bay. They're quality kicks with a stiff sole, great fit, and the added bonus of being designed for riders with wide or high-volume feet. The savings that come with the Apeckx II are mostly attributable to the Zytel nylon sole. It's almost as stiff as carbon but considerably less expensive, so you get high-level stiffness without the high-level price tag. The EVA footbed provides medium arch support, which will suit most riders, and it features an Aegis anti-microbial treatment to ward off bacteria and stinky shoe syndrome. Two hook-and-loop straps pull the Apeckx snug without pinching, and the ratcheting top strap locks the whole package down to your instep for comfortable and powerful circular pedaling.

Giro Empire ACC Shoes Giro Empire ACC Shoes
One glance at Giro's Empire ACC Shoes, and you'll see they're different. Rather than the ubiquitous buckle/strap combo, Giro's outfitted them with something decidedly old-fashioned -- laces. That's about where the old-fashioned nature stops, though. The uppers are a single piece of Evofiber microfiber, which is highly breathable, but is also perforated for additional airflow. Those uppers are attached to an ultra-stiff Easton EC90 ACC Carbon Sole. This sole is among the stiffest available, and due to high grade of carbon fiber used in its construction, is also one of the slimmest, producing a stack height of just 6. 5mm. Between the uppers and the sole sits Giro's lauded SuperNatural FitKit, the long name for its user-tunable footbed. These insoles have swappable arch support so you can tune the fit of your shoes precisely to your feet.

Giro Empire ACC Shoes - Women's Giro Empire ACC Shoes - Women's
Giro went back to the past when it decided to design a lace-up cycling shoe a few years ago for a certain Olympic cyclist in the 2012 London Games, and though it might've seemed like more of a fashion statement at the time, the shoe proved that lace-ups still deserve a place in cycling today. After the shoe has shown that it's here to stay, Giro chose to let women in on the fun at last with the Empire ACC Women's Shoes. If you're like us, you may already have been wearing the Empire ACC but settling for men's sizes. There's also a chance you may have yet to discover the Empire ACC's high-end features and functionality. Either way, the shoe's availability in a women's fit is cause for celebration. Giro starts by constructing the shoes' uppers with a single piece of Evofiber microfiber to provide a lightweight, contoured fit across the top of the foot. Evofiber is a highly breathable fabric, and it features added perforations to further promote ventilation and facilitate quick moisture transfer away from your skin. Rather than add extra overlays and pieces of material, Giro keeps the profile of the Empire ACC sleek and uniform, and the flexibility of the microfiber combined with the full lacing system allows for a customizable, second-skin fit. An Easton EC90 ACC carbon outsole provides an extremely stiff, light pedaling platform, and its low stack height brings your cleats close to the pedals to eliminate the loss of power that thicker cleat plates suffer, resulting in efficient, responsive power transfer. Inside the shoe, Giro adds its Super Natural Fit System, which allows for adjustable arch support within the shoe depending on the shape of your arch to reduce fatigue while pedaling. The insole itself is made with X-Static fiber to ward off odors, while the outsoles have replaceable heel pads to keep the shoes going for miles.

Giro Empire SLX Limited Edition Shoe - Men's Giro Empire SLX Limited Edition Shoe - Men's
A few years ago, Giro revived the lace-up cycling shoe with the Empire and Empire SLX shoes. For its follow-up act, the California-based brand did the only logical thing: added lava lamp-inspired camouflage. The Empire SLX Limited Edition Shoes are an homage to the long-haired lava lamp crowd for use by the shaved-legged tan line crowd. While we're not entirely sure what prompted the connection (Giro suggests dorm room memories were involved), we do know that the result is a bit of fluo bling at a Phinney-approved 175g with an equally Phinney-approved efficient stiffness. No word on what the US wunderkind thinks of the aesthetics, but--given his penchant for pushing the sartorial envelope--something tells us he'd approve. As implied above, the Empire SLX is the second tier of Giro's Empire line-up. Easton's EC90 SLX2 carbon outsole is the main upgrade from regular Empire models, and it's also the culprit behind the shoe's peloton-proven efficiency. The previous iteration of Empire soles has been plenty stiff enough for the likes of Phinney and Wiggins, and this one's no different. It's just made from lighter carbon and it includes titanium hardware to make it weigh even less. It still maintains that super low stack height, which in turn keeps your feet closer to the pedals to minimize the power loss that occurs with thicker cleat plates. The SLXs are wrapped with the same, single piece of Evofiber microfiber used in the heavier Empire models. This fabric is exceptionally lightweight and highly breathable, featuring perforations for added cooling. This contributes not only to the sleek, minimalist profile, but it also reduces weight. The big difference when comparing the Empires to any other pro-level shoes are the laces. It may seem regressive to put laces on cycling shoes of any level, but the logic actually bears out. Consider the typical pair of hook-and-loop straps with a ratcheting buckle, which contacts the uppers in three places. Now consider the Empire's...

Giro Empire SLX Shoes Giro Empire SLX Shoes
At just 175 grams, the Giro Empire SLX shoes are breathing some pretty rarefied air. Not many shoes on the market come within 100 grams of the Empire, but it's not giving up anything in terms of performance, either. The uppers are a single piece of Evofiber microfiber, which is highly breathable, but is also perforated for additional airflow. The shoe closes using just the laces you no doubt noticed, but those laces are specially designed to remain tied, and there's also a lace garage on the tongue to ensure they don't get anywhere near your drivetrain. Those uppers are attached to an ultra-stiff Easton EC90 SLX2 Carbon Sole. This sole is among the stiffest available, and due to high grade of carbon fiber used in its construction, is also one of the slimmest, producing a stack height of just 6. 5mm. A low stack height means less power lost to thick cleat plates. And, to make the Empire SLX even lighter, Giro's opted for another old-school classic --Ti hardware. Giro Espada Boa Shoe - Women's Giro Espada Boa Shoe - Women's
Feeling your shoe flex over your pedal when you're hammering out to the front of the pack on race day is less than ideal, but so is spending a fortune when you're a self-sponsored rider. Instead of diving in to budget shoes just to save a few bucks, find the perfect happy medium with the Giro Espada Boa Shoe for Women, designed with stiff carbon soles, and a price that isn't too hard to swallow. These shoes are designed for the avid cyclist and new cyclist alike, with a comfortable fit and snug uppers that can be cinched down right where you want them, and replaceable walking pads, so they can last for years. Beginning construction, the Espada shoes start out with microfiber and mesh uppers that hold your foot in like a warm hug, but with ample venting, so that warm hug doesn't turn into hot-foot. The mesh is perfect for transferring moisture if your foot gets sweating, and perforations in the microfiber help heat escape from your feet constantly. The uppers are constructed with both a L6 boa, for micro adjustments, and a hook and loop strap in the forefoot for tightening things down with serious support, ensuring minimal foot slip when you're putting down maximum power. Inside of the shoe you'll find a supple EVA insole, with molded arch and heel support that keep your foot in a comfortable position when you're laying down the power. To make sure you don't experience flex and twists when you're putting out maximum watts, the sole is constructed out of Easton's stiff and supportive EC70 carbon fiber composite, allowing for direct power transfer into your pedals with every stroke. The sole also features a replaceable walking pad, making them ideal for long term use, as they won't go out of commission after a year of hard wear and tear. The shoes are equipped with steel hardware for running three-bolt road cleats, for compatibility with most road cycling pedals.

Giro Factor Techlace Shoe - Men's Giro Factor Techlace Shoe - Men's
In an ever more contentious world, Giro proves that erstwhile foes can become valuable allies if they simply work together. The Factor Techlace Men's Shoes combine three of the most common fastening systems--Boa's IP1 dial, laces, and hook-and-loop straps--allowing them to peacefully coexist as joint headliners. The result blends the minimalist profile and customizable fit of the lace-up Empire with the user-friendly convenience of the original Factor. We think that it's also just cool as hell. The Factor Techlace is the first Giro shoe to feature a Boa dial, and Giro uses it to anchor the shoe at the top, which is where the IP1's single millimeter adjustment will come the most in handy. The rest of the shoe is secured by hook-and-loop straps that are in turn anchored by laces. Fit-wise, they feel similar to the original Factor once the straps are tightened and the dial is dialed, but replacing the full straps with laces involves a reduction in material and a corresponding loss of weight. Giro credits the Factor Techlace with a tidy 40g weight loss per shoe when compared to the plain ol' Factor. There will undoubtedly be a chorus of retro-grouches lamenting the combination as unnecessary ostentation, but we heard the same critique of laces when the Empire fist launched, and now it's impossible to imagine a group ride or race without at least one pair in the bunch. The Easton EC90SLX2 sole is an upgrade over the Factor's ACC model, and its use of lighter carbon fiber also contributes to the weight loss. Despite shedding grams, the sole remains stiffly efficient and features a full complement of steel hardware for mounting cleats and replacing the heel pad. As with all of Giro's race shoes, stack height is kept to a minimum in order to eliminate as many barriers between your watts and the pedals as possible. The sole is mated to a single-piece upper made of the same Teijin Evofiber SL Giro uses for its other top-tier race shoes, so the Factor Techlace is similar ...

Giro Factress Techlace Shoe - Women's Giro Factress Techlace Shoe - Women's
Frequent visitors to Competitive Cyclist will know that we tend to privilege the rule of three in our copy descriptions. It's just an effective model of communication. The Easton EC90SLX2 sole is an upgrade over the Factress' ACC model, and its use of lighter carbon fiber also contributes to the weight loss. The sole is mated to a single-piece upper made of the same Teijin Evofiber SL Giro uses for its other top-tie...

Giro Grynd Shoes Giro Grynd Shoes
If you're used to riding clipped-in, even a quick trip to the grocery store on your bike with normal shoes feels wrong. But walking up and down the aisles with your cleats clacking once you get there isn't always ideal either. Giro's Grynd Shoes will allow you to pedal efficiently during your next jaunt around the neighborhood or weekend spin class, and then walk around afterwards without wearing down your cleats, slipping on the concrete, or perforating a hardwood floor. The shoes are constructed to look and feel like sneakers as you walk around or drive to your spin class, and they have a recessed two-bolt cleat design that works with or without clipless pedals. The Grynds feature synthetic leather uppers with mesh paneling for breathability. They're secured by a lace-up closure and hook-and-loop strap to keep dangling laces safely contained. Giro adds its molded EVA insoles for arch support inside the shoes and the Aegis anti-microbial treatment keeps them smelling fresh. An EVA outsole makes walking around comfortable, while the cleat zone's nylon construction ensures that it retains stiffness for efficient power transfer.

Giro New Road Republic Shoes Giro New Road Republic Shoes
Modeled along the same lines as the top-level competition Empire shoes, the New Road Republic Shoes democratize the casual-meets-cycling aesthetics of Giro's lace-up cycling kicks. Instead of the low weight and high price of the ambitious Empire, the Republic features a walking sole made of DuPont's Zytel nylon and armored with replaceable, sneaker-style walking pads that provide plenty of grip while you're navigating the pedestrian world between rides. Of course, the Republics are cycling shoes, so the soles are still plenty stiff and bipedal freedom doesn't come at the cost of efficiency when you're pedaling a bicycle. They also feature a breathable, durable, non-stretch microfiber upper that's similar to their imperial cousin, and the seven points of lace-up contact mean that the fit is just as customizable. A loop on the tongue locks the laces down after you've run the bunny around the tree, so the laces sit tight in their rabbit hole instead of hopping into your chainring.

Giro Raes Techlace Shoe - Women's Giro Raes Techlace Shoe - Women's
When it comes to choosing road kit, we admit that we like to look good. With shoes, this often means, sleek and understated as the industry moves further and further away from the overwrought bobbles we all rode in the '90s and '00s. Giro has been a leading proponent of the cycling industry's nascent minimalism, and the Raes Techlace Women's Shoe is the latest model to embody the brand's artful marriage of understated form and over-achieving function. Each individual shoe is a paltry 44 claimed grams heavier than its more expensive Factress Techlace counterpart, and since it has a carbon sole, that makes it ideal for the aspirational cyclist who values weekend centuries as much as putting in a good showing at the Tuesday night crit series. The weight gain likely comes in the sole--which is built from Easton's EC70 carbon fiber instead of the Factress Techlace's EC90 SLX--or the uppers, which are a multi-piece construction instead of the Factress' sleeker, single-piece design. Regardless of the added grams, the EC70 sole still provides that crisp, lively spring we expect from carbon soles, and the upper secures the foot like a second skin. The fit owes its comfort to the Raes' peculiar mash-up of closure technologies: the shoe features everything from the standard hook-and-loop to laces and a Boa L6 dial. The design may seem unnecessarily complicated, but anyone who has experience the indescribably painful hotspots caused by hammering for 60 miles in ill-fitting shoes will confirm that, when it comes to fit, the more engineered, the better.

Giro Sentrie Techlace Shoes Giro Sentrie Techlace Shoes
Giro's reintroduction of laces into the elite cycling shoe ranks reshuffled the industry and sparked a slew of copycat designs, making laces once again a common sight at weekend group rides and races alike. And while we're solidly on the "fan" side of the lace discussion, many riders are hesitant to sacrifice on-the-fly adjustment capability. With that in mind, Giro's Sentrie Techlace Shoes mark a new generation of shoes that meld the three most common closure systems into a highly adjustable harmony. Launching as the more affordable, yet absolutely race-worthy cousin of the Factor Techlace, the Sentrie Techlace blends Boa's L6 dial with Giro's new Techlace closure, which provide the light, supple feel of laces with the quick adjustability of hook-and-loop straps. The Sentrie Techlace is one of the first Giro shoes to feature a Boa dial, which Giro uses to anchor the shoe at the top with 1mm adjustment intervals to perfectly dial in the fit. The rest of the shoe is secured by two hook-and-loop straps that are in turn anchored by laces for a secure fit at a lower weight than traditional straps. There will undoubtedly be a chorus of traditionalists lamenting the combination as unnecessary complication, but we heard similar critique of laces when the Empire fist launched, and now it's impossible to imagine a group ride or race without at least one pair in the bunch.Giro employs a lightweight, breathable, bonded and welded upper with heel and toe reinforcement adding an extra dose of durability against errant scuffs and scratches. Inside, a Super Natural Fit Kit allows three different levels of arch support to help alleviate hot spots and discomfort caused by metatarsal pressure. And last, but not least, the upper is attached to Easton's EC70 carbon composite sole, praised for both its low weight and ability to transfer power directly to the pedals.

Giro Solara II Shoes - Women's Giro Solara II Shoes - Women's
Pro-level shoes aren't always practical, especially if you take part in multiple disciplines or are just getting into cycling. Or maybe, like many of us, you're more interested in kit that just works rather than the Latest & GreatestTM. Giro understands this, so it took features from its high-end models and adapted them to a shoe that won't take up your entire budget for the season just because some pro with a funny haircut and lively social media account wears it, too. Giro constructs the shoes with a smooth, vented microfiber upper for a contoured fit around your foot. The Solara II features welded and bonded uppers that limit the number of traditionally sewn seams to reduce the likelihood of hot spots and blisters. While some entry-level cycling shoes receive little to no midsole treatment, Giro adds a molded EVA footbed to the Solara IIs to provide efficiency-improving arch support throughout your pedal stroke. The footbed is treated with an Aegis antimicrobial coating to keep it smelling fresh, while a DuPont Zytel nylon outsole provides reliable power transfer from your legs to the pedals. When you're getting ready to ride, take advantage of the option to fine-tune the fit of the shoes at three points across the top of your foot to avoid numbness and hot spots. Giro includes two hook-and-loop straps across the instep and a micro-adjustable N-1 ratcheting buckle at the top.

Giro Trans E70 Shoes Giro Trans E70 Shoes
Collaboration is the spice of life, or something, so when Giro teamed up with Easton to make the Trans E70 Shoe, your footwear possibilities got a little more flavorful. Easton's renowned for its carbon-fiber expertise, which it brought to bear on the EC70 sole, a carbon-composite offering that's at once lightweight, powerful, and comfortable. It'll help you put plenty of power into the pedals without killing your feet, and is even decked out with a replaceable walking pad, so your shoes don't meet an unnecessarily early end. The upper's killer, too. It's made with Evofiber, a microfiber polyester that was designed by Japanese wizards Teijin to have a top-shelf durability-to-weight ratio, and has perforations that help your feet stay cool and dry on the road. The toe is reinforced, the design is ergonomic, and the hook-and-loop straps team up with the ratcheting instep closure to lock your foot down snugly and comfortably. To finish things off, Giro included its SuperNatural Fit Kit, which lets you customize the footbed to your exact specs, and treated the lining with Aegis, an antimicrobial agent that prevents funk from taking over your shoes.

Lake CX 237 Wide Road Shoe - Cycling - Men's Lake CX 237 Wide Road Shoe - Cycling - Men's
Stop squishing your wide feet into medium-width shoes and telling yourself it's fine. One look at the rolling topography of your feet should give you a hint about the bunion-filled future you have ahead of you if you don't start giving your tootsies some breathing room when you ride. And really, it's as easy as buying Lake's CX 237 Wide Road Shoe. Exactly the same as its hardworking mid-range CX237 shoe, the wide version gives you an additional 15mm of pressure-relieving bliss compared to the regular width, so you can actually let your toes splay out and take advantage of their strength when you're pedaling. Just like the regular width model, Lake builds the CX237 wide on its Competition last, which provides a contoured fit to capitalize on power transfer from the ball of your foot. You'll be able to drive power straight through to the pedals using the unyielding carbon sole, while two micro-adjustable Boa dials give you the ability to make infinite adjustments to the fit of the heel and forefoot so you get a secure fit without sacrificing circulation. As if that weren't enough, Lake takes the high road and constructs the uppers of the CX 237 using full grain leather, accented by airy mesh paneling to make sure your feet can still breathe inside the shoe.

Lake CX175 Shoes - Men's Lake CX175 Shoes - Men's
The men's CX175 Shoes adapt many features from the more expensive CX217 model with a few changes to rein-in the price and provide a different fit option. The key change is in the outsole, with Lake opting for a fiberglass-reinforced nylon platform on the CX175 instead of the CX217's carbon fiber sole. This means that the CX175 lacks some of the power transferring capabilities of its more expensive stablemate, but -- for anyone except a dedicated racer -- the slightly less efficient sole won't be an issue. In reality, whatever your day in the saddle has in store, the CX175 is fit for it. The CX175 is also built on a different last, substituting Lake's Road Standard Last for the CX217's Road Sport Last. The CX175 has a slimmer, trimmer toe box that leads into a mid-width metatarsal space and boasts pronounced arch support. It's a comfort-focused fit, designed to ensure that the metatarsal bones have plenty of room to expand during hard efforts with the aim of alleviating hotspots and tenderness during long rides. Except for the above differences, the CX175 is largely the same as the CX217. It includes an Action leather upper that's shot through with panels of mesh for strategic ventilation that's easily covered on cool fall mornings or bright winter afternoons. It's also got the same Boa L4 wire dial enclosure system. This design is a rarity in the industry, as most manufacturers supplement single Boa dials with a hook-and-loop strap across the toe box. In our experience, this additional strap is an unnecessary embellishment that has little to no effect on fit, and we find that the single dial enclosure system is a perfectly capable, lower-weight system.

Louis Garneau Actifly Cycling Shoes - Men's Louis Garneau Actifly Cycling Shoes - Men's
Trainer season is just around the corner, and if you've done it before you know that the amount of sweat generated in an hour on that machine blows your average bike ride out of the water. With no cool breeze to wick away the sweat and keep you dry, aside from a small room fan, you end up soaking your jersey, shorts, bike, and shoes. Louis Garneau understands the inevitable increase in sweat, which is why they made the Louis Garneau Actifly Cycling Shoes extra breathable and vented, so you can stay as cool as possible when you bang out your trainer miles or hit a spin class. The Actifly Cycling Shoes wrap your foot in synthetic leather uppers that are dominated by mesh panels to keep your feet breathing. The mesh is treated with anti-odor technology, and Louis Garneau claims antibacterial technology as well, so they aim to keep your feet feeling and smelling fresh no -matter how sweaty they get. Inside of the Actifly shoes is more mesh, honeycomb perforated, and again treated with anti-odor technology to promote breathability, comfort, and quick drying. The outsole is made from nylon-injected fiberglass, which offers moderate stiffness for power output, but has a little more torsional flex than a carbon-fiber sole does. Even the outsole of the Actifly Cycling shoes is designed to keep your feet cool and dry, thanks to ventilation throughout that keeps your foot breathing from the bottom as well. Since we don't always have the same pedal setup indoor as outdoor, and often if we're heading to a spin class there can be a huge range of options available, the Actifly Cycling shoes are designed to be ready for nearly any style of pedal you can throw at it. With steel inserts that come along with the shoes you can run any 3-bolt road cleat or 2-bolt mountain cleat, so it's as easy as a few turns of a hex key, and you'll be ready to ride your local spin classes SPD pedals after using your Look's at home.

That's why Louis Garneau offers us the perfect, extra-breathable option for hitting spin classes or spending miles on the trainer inside with their Actifly Cycling shoes for women. With more vents than you thought you could need, these keep sweat pulling away so that you can keep feeling fresh, even if you're in a dingy basement staring at a computer while grueling through your training routine. Since the emphasis of the Actifly is breathability, Louis Garneau opted for an almost entirely mesh upper, with some synthetic leather holding the shape together and adding support. The internal lining is also mesh, with a honeycomb construction designed to, you guessed it, breathe. Collectively with both a mesh upper and lining the shoes continually wick away sweat and dry to keep you feeling fresh, but if that wasn't enough, they are also treated with anti-odor technology to help you feel clean from start to finish. A nylon-injected fiberglass outsole provides you with the stiff support you want when you're putting down the power, but does offer a bit more torsional flex than a carbon fiber sole does. The outsoles also feature a breathability boost, with ventilation throughout to keep your feet cool and dry, avoiding the dreaded hot-foot. Not all of us are blessed with the same pedal setup indoors and outdoors, and if we're heading to a new spin class who knows what they be running on their bikes, which is why Louis Garneau designs the Actifly to be compatible out of the box with nearly any clipless pedal you'll find on the market. The shoes come along with steel inserts that allow you to run either 2-bolt mountain cleats, or 3-bolt road cleats, and with just a few turns of a ...

Louis Garneau Carbon LS-100 II Shoes - Women's Louis Garneau Carbon LS-100 II Shoes - Women's
If you're looking for race-worthy energy in a shoe to replace your worn entry-level kicks, but are sponsoring yourself on the bike for the foreseeable future, upgrade to the Louis Garneau Carbon LS-100 II. With a palatable price point and a construction that represents a significant step up from the starter shoes you've been using, the Carbon LS-100 won't drain your bank account in exchange for its responsive nature and contoured fit. Less expensive starter shoes tend to offer fewer options for customization, providing riders with a generous, but not necessarily precise, fit. All of that changes with an upgrade to a shoe like the Carbon LS-100. Its upper mid-range distinction earns you a Boa dial and hook-and-loop strap across the supple synthetic leather uppers. This combination allows you to adjust for different needs across your instep and toes, ensuring both feel secure, but without the dreaded pins-and-needles sensation that imprecise buckles and straps often lead to. As you turn the pedals heading into a notoriously harsh local climb, the Carbon LS-100 will jump eagerly to the task of transferring precious watts into the pedals, matching your intensity with a rigid carbon composite platform.

Louis Garneau Copal Shoes - Men's Louis Garneau Copal Shoes - Men's
While Louis Garneau may stand out more as a high-end triathlon company, its road offerings still indicate that the Canadian firm is more than capable of circulating in the drop bar crowd. LG's proven innovations include being one of the first manufacturers to adopt the now-common single Boa and hook-and-loop strap fastening system, but the men's Copal Shoes demonstrate that it also recognizes the value of classic, time-tested designs. The traditional ratcheting buckle and hook-and-loop straps constitute an enclosure language that virtually every cyclist can speak by heart, and LG uses it to good effect in order to allow targeted compression at each of the three fastening points. The Ergo Air II sole and Cool Stuff insole facilitate refreshing airflow through the shoes, and the seamless synthetic uppers and HRS-90 heel support system maintain a secure, efficient fit.

Louis Garneau L.A. 84 Shoe - Men's Louis Garneau L.A. 84 Shoe - Men's
You've curious about the return of the lace-up shoe for a while now, long enough to realize that what started as a trend looks to have staying power. Whether you remember when lace-ups reigned or are considering upgrading to cycling-specific shoes for the first time, Louis Garneau's L. A. 84 Shoe is a good place to start if your budget and fit requirements trend more towards self-sponsored and generous. Taking inspiration from the lace-up models the pros have been wearing, the L. A. 84 offers a similar fit and feel, in a more approachable price range. Built to Garneau's STD Fit standards, the shoe doesn't have the aggressive, highly contoured fit of a top-end race shoe. While it still provides security and the nearly limitless potential to adjust fit that comes with a lace-up design, the shoe will feel more forgiving for everyday rides. Its fiberglass-reinforced nylon soles lend a mix of stiffness and flex appropriate for its entry/mid-level distinction that will see you loyally through group rides, evening spins, and perhaps your first-ever Fondo.

Louis Garneau Opal Cycling Shoe - Women's Louis Garneau Opal Cycling Shoe - Women's
The recent renaissance of lace-up cycling shoes means that commuters and spin class cyclists can now go undercover when they're off the bike with shoes like Louis Garneau's Opal Women's Cycling Shoes. The Opal's low-key style and functional tread mean it's as at home on foot as in the saddle, and the Multi Lite outsole has a bit of engineered flex to accommodate walking. The sole's nylon and fiberglass construction is still plenty stiff for mashing through intervals, though, and the two-bolt mountain-style cleat mounts keep you connected to the pedals. The last features a roomier fit than LG's race shoes, but it's still equipped with the HRS-80 heel retention system in order to ensure that comfort doesn't come at the expense of watts lost due to a sloppy fit.

Louis Garneau Platinum Shoes - Men's Louis Garneau Platinum Shoes - Men's
If your first pair of cycling shoes have seen their share of miles and are starting to beg for retirement, Louis Garneau's all-new men's Platinum Shoes would be a good place to start your search for a replacement. With a slim silhouette and trickle-down technology from Garneau's pro-level models, the Platinum is a solid step up from an entry-level or mid-range model. Garneau uses synthetic leather to shape the Platinum's contoured uppers, and instead of large mesh panels for breathability, it adds subtle slits in the synthetic leather backed by mesh to encourage airflow, maintaining the shoe's clean, sleek design. As on many of its top-tier shoes, the uppers on the Platinum are seamless, lessening the likelihood of hot spots and pressure points during long rides. Another common complaint Garneau hopes to eliminate during your rides is heel slippage, so it adds a reinforced heel cup to the Platinum to make sure you don't lose valuable watts due to a wobbling foot. The top Boa dial paired with the lower hook-and-loop strap also contribute to the cause, allowing you to fine-tune the fit along the top of your foot for the right balance of security and comfort. Anticipating that you'll be riding in a variety of temperatures, Garneau includes its Ergo Air Cool Stuff and Hot Stuff insoles with the Platinum shoes -- both are ventilated and easily interchangeable. Underneath your foot, the Ergo Air II reinforced nylon outsole will work to dutifully transfer energy from your legs to the pedals throughout your pedal stroke.

A single Boa L4 buckle secures the shoe across the midfoot, and a separate hook-and-loop strap helps to avoid hotspots with a more generous fit at the metatarsals. Louis Garneau Signature 84 Shoes - Men's Louis Garneau Signature 84 Shoes - Men's
The laces, fluo color scheme, and high-gloss uppers on Louis Garneau's Signature 84 men's Shoes combine the contemporary aesthetics of modern cycling shoes with an apparently old-school closure system. We write "apparently" because the six points of contact provide twice the fit adjustment options as the traditional ratcheting or wire buckle with two hook-and-loop straps. If that level of customization is old school, then we suggest that the new school has some learning to do. The Signature 84's Ergo Air Carbon Composite outsole is equally advanced, consisting of a carbon platform that places a scant 4. 3mm of stiff, efficient material between your feet and the pedals, further reducing the already low number of watts lost to material deflection. The outsoles also feed air into the shoe via LG's multi-vent system, and interchangeable Cool Stuff and Hot Stuff insoles let you control the internal temperature based on external conditions. At the heel, the shoes are finished with an internal system to anchor your foot and an external hit of reflectivity.

Louis Garneau W's Cristal Louis Garneau W's Cristal
If you're looking for a road shoe that isn't prohibitively expensive but still looks good, we'd recommend Louis Garneau's Cristal Shoes. We were impressed with the aesthetics of this shoe right away. It doesn't scream "budget option," and with its list of specs, it clearly isn't. Whether you're new to road riding or are just realizing your old shoes have seen too many miles, the Cristal shoes offer an impressive mix of features and affordability. Garneau mixes a sturdy synthetic leather upper with mesh panels for venting, ensuring the Cristals hold their shape while remaining breathable during your rides. The Canadian manufacturer also eliminated seaming throughout the material for a contoured fit that reduces hot spots and pressure points. The hook-and-loop straps along the forefoot are offset to help you achieve more of a wrap-like, customizable fit, and a ratcheting buckle strap allows you to fine tune the tightness of the shoes across the top of your foot. On the inside of the shoes, Louis Garneau includes its Cool Stuff insoles, which have improved arch support and better ventilation than in previous versions. They work with reinforced heel cups to keep the shoes securely on your feet during hard climbs. Garneau's Ergo Air II nylon outsole is plenty stiff for recreational cycling, and it's vented for added breathability to help you stay comfortable on hot days and long rides. As a final touch, reflective accents on each heel help make sure you stay seen on days when your rides take you along shady, tree-lined roads or keep you out after the sun has gone down.

The Boa IP1 dials allow 1mm micro-adjustability and pop up for full release. The 1:1 Integrated Carbon Power Plate delivers feather-light efficiency with a stiffness rating of 13 out of 13. Thanks to the unique uni-body construction--which eliminates a traditional lasting board--Shimano is able to preserve a super low 5mm stack height for a more powerful and fluid pedal stroke. The 1:1 Insole System rounds out the highlights by allowing independent left and right arch and forefoot varus canting adjustability for optimal pedaling mechanics.

Pearl Izumi Race Road IV Cycling Shoe - Men's Pearl Izumi Race Road IV Cycling Shoe - Men's
Investing in your first pair of road shoes doesn't have to involve spending several hundred dollars to be comfortable. It can if you'd like it to, but as the clean lines and lightweight construction of higher-end road shoes trickle down to mid-range and even entry-level options, self-sponsored cyclists are more catered to than ever. Nowhere is this shift more apparent than in the Pearl Izumi Men's Race Road IV Cycling Shoe. A few years ago, features like welded, seam-free uppers were a luxury even for top-end road shoes. Now we're thrilled to see that the technology, which reduces weight as well as the likelihood of hot spots, has made its way to mid-range models like the Race Road IV. This flexible construction also improves breathability when you warm up, and with Pearl's Bi-directional Closure design, doesn't lead to a reduction in support. This wrap-like construction surrounds your foot for a secure fit, adjusted via a single BOA dial and hook-and-loop strap that allow you to customize tightness along different areas of your foot, so you don't end up dealing with numb toes just to achieve a slim fit in your heels. Along the bottom of the shoe, a carbon-reinforced Composite Power Plate handles power transfer, delivering watts to your pedals with admirable stiffness. Pearl adds Direct-Vent slits in the sole to make sure the bottoms of your hardworking feet get some air, while an EVA foam and rubber heel adds comfort when you're standing in line for a post-ride espresso and well-earned slice of pie.

Pearl Izumi Race Road IV Cycling Shoe - Women's Pearl Izumi Race Road IV Cycling Shoe - Women's
As a mid-tier cycling shoe, Pearl Izumi's Race Road IV Women's Shoe is an impressive option whether you're upgrading from your first pair of entry-level shoes or making the commitment to go clipless. The Race Road IV's sleek, streamlined design, seamless upper, and efficient BOA and hook-and-loop closure resemble shoes twice its price, and its sole is compatible with both standard three-bolt road cleats and two-bolt mountain cleats. Road, off-road, spin class -- the Race Road IV can accommodate cleats for whatever pedal style you prefer. Much of the Race Road IV's sleek, streamlined aesthetic comes from its 3D Seamless Print Upper, which is all-new for Pearl Izumi this year. The upper relies on a web of bonded seaming that gives the shoe far more flexibility than heavier seamed uppers while still maintaining a close, contoured shape overall. These types of uppers are far less likely to cause hot spots and pressure points, and their breathability helps prevent chafing and blisters from perspiring feet receiving no ventilation. The positioning of the BOA dial in the middle of the shoe allows you to tighten each side of the upper incrementally to ensure you get a fit that gives you responsive power transfer without numb toes. On the underside of the shoe, Pearl constructs the forefoot with rigid, efficient carbon fiber, then uses a durable composite along the rest of the outsole, providing the promise of power transfer when you need it without a full-carbon-inflated price. Other touches like a soft Select Insole and an EVA foam and rubber heel bumper provide extra support and comfort during longer rides and when you're navigating the coffee shop line.

Expand your list of QOMs, throw down in the Saturday county line sprint, and confidently toe the start line in the Scott Women's Road RC Lady Shoes. While these shoes make some sacrifices in stiffness and closure technology compared to the top-end Men's Road RC, they also come in at a more budget friendly price point and offer a stiff sole and near-custom fit to keep your feet cool and comfortable. Scott utilizes a strategic mix of lightweight microfiber and 3D nylon air mesh to build the Road RC's upper around its Wrap Fit construction. Wrap Fit consists of an internal layer of synthetic leather that provides extra support while conforming to your foot shape to reduce pressure points and increase comfort. In contrast to the men's Road RC's full BOA IP1 closure system, Scott outfits the Road RC Lady with a cross strap held in place by a BOA IP1 closure across the top of the shoe and two hook-and-loop straps to secure the midfoot and forefoot. As you'll find in all of Scott's top-line shoes, an Adjustable ErgoLogic removable insole provides a customizable arch for additional tweaks to the Road RC Lady's support and fit. The Road RC Lady features an HMX carbon fiber sole similar to the men's version of the shoe, but it offers a stiffness level of nine in contrast to the level ten found on the men's side. While this sole is still lightweight and stiff enough to transfer power in a flash, if you're looking for top-of-the-line stiffness and the security of a full BOA closure it may be worthwhile to check out the sizing options available in the Men's Road RC Shoe.

Shimano SH-RP9 Cycling Shoe - Men's Shimano SH-RP9 Cycling Shoe - Men's
It's with a heavy heart that you have to part with your classic cycling shoes that got you through the miles of building your foundation on the bike. The soft flex and blown out stitching aren't things you'll miss, though, as you reach toward a new pair of shoes to get you through the miles that lie ahead of you. Reach for support, stiffness, and lightweight construction you can count on as you progress further down the road, throw your feet into the Shimano SH-RP9 Cycling Shoe for men, with lightweight carbon soles, plenty of ventilation, and the drive to ascend treacherous alpine roads as much as casual seaside byways. The RP9 is Shimano's classic flagship shoe that covers the spot of a mid-pro level shoe that's race ready, but also happy to spend weekends on the scenic path rolling through vineyards and towering Cyprus trees. This year the shoe received a major face lift, cleaning up bulky hook and loop straps and buckles, opting for a minimalized and elegant aesthetic. Sleek synthetic leather with perforations wrap your foot snugly, allowing breathing while supporting your foot with a firm hug. One hook and loop strap remains over the forefoot and toe, but the previously used extra strap and buckle are removed for the addition of a boa system that works to cinch your foot in to the perfect micro adjustment for your own personal needs. Shimano SH-RP9 Cycling Shoe - SMU - Men's Shimano SH-RP9 Cycling Shoe - SMU - Men's
Sooner or later, the time will come when you'll need a new pair of cycling shoes. You owe it to yourself since you put your old shoes through the ringer on fast group rides and countless base miles. We all want a suitably stiff shoe that is lightweight but this doesn't mean squat if the fit isn't great and they hurt your feet. Shimano SH-RP9 Cycling Shoe for men feature lightweight carbon soles for putting down the power and ample ventilation so your feet stay cool as a cucumber even during a July Tuesday Night Worlds ride. This version of the SH-RP9 is in a limited edition blue color that adds a touch of bling to your pedal stroke. The RP9 is Shimano's flagship shoe in the Road Performance lineup and is every bit capable to race in, yet comfortable enough so you can take in the scenery and not think about aching feet if you are on a bike vacation. This year's model received some changes and removed one of the hook and loop straps and buckle and replaced them with a Boa dial. This minimized approach is not only an upgrade to the aesthetic, it also improves the fit and makes getting in and out of the shoes and adjusting the fit quick and easy. The synthetic leather upper is dotted with perforations and hugs your foot with gentle restraint, so the support is always there and your feet can breathe. A lower hook and loop strap remains, but the extra strap and buckle are removed in favor of a Boa system that adjusts to fit your foot perfectly with micro adjustment whether its at mile 70 of a gran fondo or 1km before the city limit sign. The carbon sole scores a 10 out of 12 on Shimano's stiffness scale, offering plenty of backbone so no watts are lost from your foot to the pedal. An external, shaped heel cup anchors the back of your foot minimizing heel slip when launching an attack on a steep canyon road. An EVA foam insole provides comfort for long days when the rides are measured in smiles versus miles.

Sidi Ergo 4 Carbon Mega Shoe - Men's Sidi Ergo 4 Carbon Mega Shoe - Men's
Euro brands have a reputation for cobbling slim, sculptured shoes that remain tantalizingly off-limits to cyclists not blessed with the delicate feet to match. Before you write off Euro brands completely, slide your foot into the Sidi Ergo 4 Carbon Mega Shoe and experience a slipper with expert European construction and a platform that actually accommodates your taller instep and wider-than-average forefoot. Sidi blends beloved features from throughout its line to create the Ergo 4, so if you're familiar with the brand, you're likely to recognize things like the Tecno 3 buckle system and Adjustable Heel Retention Device. The Tecno 3's dual ratcheting buckles provide micro-adjustability across the length of your foot for a contoured, secure fit that works for your foot. A wider platform shouldn't translate to a sloppy, loose fit, and Sidi unsurprisingly succeeds at striking a balance between the two with the Ergo 4. To match the heel of the shoe to your foot, tighten or loosen the adjustable heel to establish a secure fit that won't slip or waste power when you stretch out of the saddle mid-climb. Underneath, the full carbon composite sole handles power transfer, creating a rigid medium through which to transfer power from the engine to the frame. A full carbon shank surrounded by nylon-reinforced carbon achieves a balance of slight flex for comfort with uncompromising rigidity during punishing efforts.

Sidi Genius Fit Carbon Shoe - Men's Sidi Genius Fit Carbon Shoe - Men's
Sidi's Genius Fit Carbon Shoes for men are a staple for many riders. With replaceable buckles and heel pads, they are sure to outlast your latest kit. The uppers of the Fit are Technomicro material, which is water-repellent, mildew-resistant, and breathable to keep your feet dry inside and out. Sidi Shot Team Bahrain Limited Edition Cycling Shoe - Men's Sidi Shot Team Bahrain Limited Edition Cycling Shoe - Men's
While it might not give you the racing abilities of Lo Squalo, the Sidi Men's Shot Team Bahrain Limited Edition Road Shoe is the very latest performance race offering from the Italian powerhouses at Sidi, and is a step in the right direction if you're aspiring to ride like Vincenzo Nabali. Its identical to the team-issue shoes worn by Team Bahrain-Merida and regaled in their red, gold and white colours, so you can power on with the same performance benefits that see the pro teams forge to the front. The Shot stands alone as the only shoe in Sidi's line to embrace the symmetrical closure system of central dials rather than dials offset on the outside of the foot. And this effect pulls the upper from both sides, wrapping the foot in a cocoon of Microfibra Techpro rather than pulling the material over the top from the instep. The closure system also makes the Shot Sidi's cleanest shoe, both in style and when it comes to aerodynamics. Fewer bulky protrusions make for a more minimalist silhouette than what we're used to from Sidi, and less protrusion also means less transitional ridges to catch the air and slow you down. While the center-mounted dial is a common enough sight across the industry now, Sidi uses a proprietary buckle in place of the ubiquitous third-party model used by most shoe manufacturers. Usually, we'd be leery of brands trying to replace proven tech with something new just for the sake of another branding opportunity. But this is Sidi, and the brand is so commonly described as "venerable" for a reason. Sidi's Tecno-3 Push buckles aren't some fly-by-night knock-off; they're the original. The brand first produced them back in the '90s, and the fact that the industry has only now caught on is proof of Sidi's innovative nous. The Tecno-3 Push represents generation 3. 5 of the brand's wire buckle, with the half generation owing to the Push's inclusion of a red release button. No shoe with a shoddy sole or fit is worth squat on the road, though, and th...

Sidi has long been the sheriff of the Cycling Corral, which makes it the primary target for every young gun looking to make a name for itself in the cycling shoe industry. With the Shot Vent Carbon Men's Cycling Shoes, the sheriff is firing back. The effect pulls the upper from both sides, enveloping the foot in a cocoon of Microfibra Techpro rather than pulling the material over the top from the instep. Sidi Wire Carbon Air Push Shoes - Women's Sidi Wire Carbon Air Push Shoes - Women's
The women's Carbon Air Push Shoes feature the same sole, upper material, and 360-degree retention systems as the models we've seen worn by the likes of Sagan, Martin, Froome -- the list goes on. The only difference is that the last is Sidi's "tapered" women's version, so the shoe fits slimmer across the metatarsals, instep, and heel. The aim is to prevent cyclists with petite feet from drowning in their shoes -- after all, this is a top-tier race model, so we expect the fit to be so spot on as to virtually disappear once the shoes are in place. Regardless of the last design, Sidi's fit is legendary, but its aesthetics are just as important to the brand's longstanding reign at the top of the industry. The high-gloss Lorica Vernice upper is largely responsible for that high-fashion status, and the women's Carbon Air updates it with myriad perforations, adding a little retro-sneaker style and ventilation to the venerable material. The redesigned Tecno-3 Push system is another update to the classic Sidi silhouette. The whole system involves two ratcheting dials, Sidi's proprietary, non-stretch monofilament wire, and a customizable fit at the instep and forefoot. The Push in the buckles' title refers to the incorporation of a red button on the unit that releases the ratchet's lever for quick adjustment, saving you the onerous task of flipping the lever up yourself. At ride's end, pinching two release buttons on either side of the dial loosens the wire. As with all of Sidi's fastening hardware, you can easily fiddle with the Tecno 3 Push buckles in the saddle. The women's Carbon Air also sees a return of Sidi's superlative vented carbon fiber sole. It shares the same construction method that Sidi developed with its Carbon Lite sole, yet it relegates the "Lite" model to the heavy bin by losing an additional 38g with no corresponding loss of stiffness. The weight loss may be due to the negative space of the vents, which shuttle cooling air into interior channels. The ve...

This synthetic leather material emphasizes lightweight support and stability with added water-repellency in inclement weather conditions. The Wire Push Cycling Shoe incorporates Sidi's Soft Instep 3 System and newly improved Tecno-3 Push System for a fine-tuned fit. The Soft Instep 3 System distributes pressure evenly across the instep area with its wide, anatomically curved strap and soft EVA pad. It's adjustable from both sides, centering the EVA pad over the foot's instep to eliminate pressure points. The Tecno-3 Push System uses two ratcheting dials to customize the fit along the instep and forefoot with Sidi's proprietary, non-stretch wire wrapping for security. The Push in the shoes' title refers to the little red buttons on each dial, which release the ratchet levers for quick and precise re-adjustments, even while you're riding. Sitting at the heart of this cycling shoe, the Vent Carbon Sole seamlessly transfers power to the pedals while ventilating your feet with integrated air channels. Woven carbon at opposing angles maximizes stiffness for sprinting out of the saddle and cranking up steep alpine passes. This lay-up leaves a small degree of controlled flex along the toe area, relieving stress on the plantar tendon while promoting circulation. It features a standard 3-hole pattern with 10mm lateral and fore/aft cleat alignment scale for mounting your cleats.

Sidi Wire Push Speedplay Cycling Shoe - Men's Sidi Wire Push Speedplay Cycling Shoe - Men's
Sidi has a competitive streak, and the brand seems to be unable to sit and appreciate its successes of the last decades for very long at all. Like an only child with no maddeningly perfect older sibling always one step ahead, Sidi instead continuously strives to outdo itself, and its Wire Speedplay Shoe represents the Italian firm's latest bid to raise the bar even higher. Invest in a pair to ride with the top end shoe from a brand continuously occupying the upper echelon in cycling shoe design. When you slide your toes into these slippers, Sidi's Tecno 3 buckle eagerly awaits the chance to wrap around your foot in a slim, contoured silhouette. Micro-adjust to your heart's content as you secure the durable Techpro microfiber around your foot; the system aims to achieve efficient power transfer while yielding to the curves of your foot for a fit that's free of pressure points and hot spots. Also working towards better power transfer, the Heel Security System allows you to tighten the shoe to fit closely around your heel. Bony, knobby heeled cyclists prone to heel slip: pay attention. This system is a game changer when you find yourself throwing power into the pedals on steep grades and during out-of-the-saddle sprints. Arguably the most crucial player in the power transfer game, the featherweight Vent Carbon sole's lightness belies its unyielding rigidity. Stand up and sprint or sit down to barrel through a climb in the big ring, and either way your hard-won watts will be delivered where they need to go. Sidi also built a slight degree of flex into the sole to make sure you stay comfortable. Since this is the Speedplay-specific version of the Wire, the shoe comes with Speedplay cleats and cleat protectors.

Sidi Wire Push Team Katusha Limited Edition Shoe - Men's Sidi Wire Push Team Katusha Limited Edition Shoe - Men's
Team Katusha's partnership with Sidi has had the riders rocking some custom-colored kicks that are now available to the every-cyclist as the Sidi Wire Push Team Katusha Limited Edition Men's Shoes. Channel the power of the red train in sprint leadouts and up sweeping mountain passes as you pedal with efficient power transfer and exceptional comfort. The Wire Push cuts a clean, low-profile figure and boasts race-proven design for any road race or training ride. The Wire Push Shoes ride securely with Sidi's Tecno 3 Push fastener. Like its predecessor, the Tecno-3 Push system involves two ratcheting dials, Sidi's proprietary, non-stretch wire, and a customizable fit at the instep and forefoot. The Push in the shoes' title refers to the incorporation of a tempting little red button on the buckles' faces that, when temptation overcomes restraint, releases the ratchet's lever for quick adjustment, saving you the onerous task of flipping the lever up yourself. At ride's end, pinching two release buttons on either side of the dial loosens the wire. As with all of Sidi's fastening hardware, you can easily fiddle with the Tecno 3 Push buckles in the saddle. The Wire also sees a return of Sidi's superlative vented carbon fiber sole. It shares the same construction method that Sidi developed with its Carbon Lite sole, yet relegates the "Lite" model to the heavy bin by losing an additional 38g. The weight loss may be due to the negative space of the vents, which shuttle cooling air into interior channels. The vents can be opened or closed depending on the temperature and your preference--even in the middle of a ride. Despite the weight savings and ventilation, the Wire Push soles have the same stiffness and confident power transfer you've grown to expect from Sidi, and they've also got a bit of engineered flex for your toes while you're awkwardly clop-clopping around on a coffee shop's stained concrete floor during a mid-ride espresso break. Also returning from previous to...
