Campagnolo 11-Speed Alloy Bar-End Shifters Campagnolo 11-Speed Alloy Bar-End Shifters
Campagnolo 11-Speed Alloy Bar End Shifters have been a long time coming. In fact, it took Campagnolo a full two years to unveil bar end shifters after their introduction of the 11-speed drivetrain. In typical fashion, Campagnolo has made these worth the wait. The reason for our excitement is that they use a return-to-center function. The ergonomic benefit is obvious to anyone who has ever time trialed: Gone are the days of hyperextending your fingertips to push the lever into your highest cogs. Even better, the lever position can be adjusted to suit your bar layout and your preferred grip. Like their Ergopower levers, the 11-Speed Bar End Shift Levers can make sweeping gear changes. This allows you to shift up to three gears at a time, up or down the cassette. Of course, you can also make single gear changes. The front shifter shares the same basic function as its Ergopower counterpart. It features indexed movement that allows you to easily and accurately trim the front derailleur to accommodate any front/rear gear configuration. And after each shift, the levers return to their pre-set center position. These Campagnolo 11-Speed Alloy Bar End Shifters have a compression plug that allows their installation in any modern time trial or clip-on aero handlebars. Just remember when you install them, our photo shows these as you'd see them while on the bike. They come with a Campagnolo stainless steel inner shift cable and housing set.

Campagnolo Chorus 11 Ergopower Shifters Campagnolo Chorus 11 Ergopower Shifters
Despite living in the shadow of their legendary Record and Super Record counterparts, the Campagnolo Chorus 11 Ergopower Shifters have developed their own devoted following. This may be because they incorporate the same shifting mechanism without the more exotic materials. It may be because a pro of Ms. Compton's caliber actually chose to use Chorus shifters on the way to four national titles and while dominating in Europe because her component choices weren't limited by sponsorship. Whatever the reason, Chorus brings all that Campagnolo has to offer into a slightly heavier, more affordable range. For 2015, the Chorus Shifters enjoy the same redesigned cable pull ratio as Super Record and Record. It's been updated for faster, more precise shifting, which means the 2015 Chorus Shifters are incompatible with groups from 2014 and earlier. You can still effect a shift of up to three cogs on the downshift and five cogs on the upshift with one lever throw, though, a feature that remains a Campy exclusive. The big winner with the new shifting ratio comes up front. Each throw of the front shifter has three clicks. Shifting to the large ring requires all three clicks (via one swipe); shifting to the small ring requires two clicks with a third reserved for trim adjustment to avoid cross gearing. This means you get to ride all 22 gear combinations with no chain rubbing. The new Vari-Cushion silicone rubber hoods incorporate varying densities of hypoallergenic silicone and are textured with a waffle pattern on the inside for additional cushion. The external pattern is a return to the pebbly texture of Campy's old ten-speed models, but with a more structured, modern design than the old faux-leather look. The tiny bumps provide traction while their surrounding grooves channel away water for an easy grip. The levers also contribute to a confident ride courtesy of their overall shape, which feels as though it was molded inside a pair of hands. Unlike the pricier Super Record...

Campagnolo Super Record 11 EPS Shifters Campagnolo Super Record 11 EPS Shifters
For more than 75 years, Campagnolo has been at the forefront of cycling innovation. From the invention of the quick-release hub to the Gran Sport derailleur, Campagnolo has always tackled difficult challenges with a sense of bravado that's won them a fiercely loyal fan base. So, it's not surprising that Campagnolo spent twenty years and went through six research models to develop the ultimate in electronic shifter design, the Super Record 11 EPS Ergopower Shifters. To make sure they got it right, Campagnolo subjected this electronic breakthrough to over a season under the legs of the MoviStar Team. While long out of reach for non-professionals, Campagnolo' s electronic prototypes are in production, and preferential accessibility is a thing of the past. EPS shift levers are coming to take the cycling world by storm. Campagnolo rethought the mold, quite literally, of lever design when it developed the EPS, or Electronic Power Shift, to surpass its mechanical shifters. While competitors integrated an adjustable lever position into their existing shifters' designs, Campagnolo engineers conducted studies on the ergonomic functionality of shifters to develop the e-Ergonomy Evolution, a re-design of the esteemed Ergopower Levers. Along with new dedicated hoods, the new levers follow the contours of the hand to create more contact and control, direct powerful braking, and full lever usage from any forward position on the bars, and for any hand size. The position of Lever Three, for downshifting, has also changed from the mechanical Super Record; it's now swept down into a smooth, longer contour that requires less compression, and nearly eliminates the long reach of its predecessor. The new Lever 3 makes the downshift more accessible from deep in the drops and more comfortable from the hoods. As expected, Campagnolo engineers have gone above and beyond to accommodate Campy purists wary of electronic shifting by retaining their 'one lever, one shift' motto, and by develop...

Shimano 105 ST-5800 11-Speed STI Shifters Shimano 105 ST-5800 11-Speed STI Shifters
If you've been jealous of your 11-speed-convert friends, but just haven't wanted to smash the piggy bank open to buy a new groupset, the new Shimano 105 5800 group is what you've been waiting for. The 105 ST-5800 11-Speed STI Shifters feature technology that has trickled all the way down from Shimano's Dura-Ace line, but in a more affordable package. The first thing you'll notice about the 5800 group is that, yes, it does have 11-speeds. Drawing from the popularity of the Dura-Ace and Ultegra groups, the 5800 is now compatible with the new and improved CS-5800 for a full range of 22 gears. Unlike the last iteration of 105, the new STI shifters feature a more compact and streamlined lever that fits into your hand. It is also adjustable for reach so that your hand-to-brake interface is secure. The shifting mechanism itself draws inspiration from Shimano's top-tier groups, with shorter strokes and polymer cables for faster, more accurate shifting. The biggest noticeable difference between the 105 shifters and their big brothers is that the levers are alloy rather than carbon construction. This, as well as alloy verses lighter weight titanium bolts, increases the weight of the shifters a bit from the top-tier models. The Shimano 105 ST-5800 11-Speed STI Shifters come in one color and are available as Left, Right, or as a Set.

Shimano Deore XT SL-M780 I-Spec B Shifters Shimano Deore XT SL-M780 I-Spec B Shifters
We are lucky to be riding in an age of such broad mountain bike innovation. However, all the new gadgets that make your bike so efficient on the climb and fast on the downhill have a drawback: clutter. Your handlebars are tasked with carrying much more than grips these days. Brake levers, shift levers, front and rear suspension lockout, a seat dropper release, and a GPS all eat up valuable handlebar real estate, and you're running out. Fortunately, Shimano feels your pain. Deore XT SL-M780 I-Spec Shifters mount directly to XT or XTR brake levers, so, with the elimination of two clamps on your bars, a little bit of room just opened up. The I-Spec shifters come with all the goodies that make the M780s so good. Arguably the best feature is Shimano's 2-way release function, which allows you to release cable tension with either your trigger (pointer finger) or your thumb. Another nice touch is the option of shifting through several gears with just one throw of the lever. This feature works whether you're shifting up or down.

Shimano Di2 TT Brake/Shifters and Bar End Shifter Set Shimano Di2 TT Brake/Shifters and Bar End Shifter Set
With the advent of the Dura-Ace TT brakes with integrated shifters, triathletes and time trial riders who race technically challenging courses rejoiced. Now, the same versatile technology has been handed down to the Ultegra line. The Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 ST-9071 11-Speed TT Brake/Shift Levers and Shimano Ultegra Di2 Remote TT Shifter Set is sure to lend its name to many personal records in the near future. Although it may seem redundant to place two sets of shifters on your aerodynamic time trial or triathlon bike, it actually makes a great deal of sense. Even though frame design and wheel choice play an important role in slipping cleanly through the air, if you move around while riding, you are negating those clean slipstreams. And, if you've raced technical or hilly courses where you need to hold the brakes to make tight corners, but also need to shift mid-turn or during a climb, you've experienced that awkward reach toward the bar ends. Integrating the electronic shifters into the brake levers eliminates that motion entirely so that you are able to concentrate on taking clean fast lines through the course. The ST-6871 is a dual button design for bikes with double chainrings. Your left brake lever has two buttons that control the front derailleur and the right controls the rear. The Di2 electronic shifting ensures effortless and perfect shifting every time. The alloy levers feature an adjustable reach. The Shimano Di2 TT Brake/Shifters and Bar End Shifter Set includes both right and left levers, brake cables, and housing ferrules.

Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 ST-9070 11-Speed Shifters Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 ST-9070 11-Speed Shifters
Dura-Ace Di2 has become renowned as "the" electronic shifting system to trust. And while it neared perfection, leave it to Shimano to improve upon it even more with the advent of the Dura-Ace Di2 9070 11-Speed STI Shifters. First and foremost, you'll notice that the new Di2 features 11 speeds, which is quickly becoming the number to hit. But beyond that, Shimano looked at the aesthetics and ergonomics of the levers to create touch points that enhance your riding experience. The shape of the levers has been given even more of an outward curve while also growing in length. This allows for a better interaction with the levers, whether you're on the hoods or in the drops. Speaking of the hoods, they are made from a dual-compound rubber composite with a perforated design, but are now smaller and slimmer in shape. Conversely, the shift paddles have been widened for a better interface in the heat of the moment. Shimano still adds in 10mm of reach adjustment. Beyond the aesthetics is the shifting performance. It is here that Shimano's Rider-Tuned philosophy takes shape. For example, with the Di2 9070, you're able to select one of five different rear derailleur shifting speeds. More impressive is that the 9070 is now capable of performing shifts up to 28 teeth on the cassette. To enhance shifting, a more minimal single-wire E-Tube connection is used. This also makes for more options for the inclusion of satellite shifting systems.

Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 ST-9071 11-Speed TT Brake/Shift Levers Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 ST-9071 11-Speed TT Brake/Shift Levers
Let's face it, the path to losing time is shorter than the path to gaining it. In fact, this unfortunate process reveals itself in innumerable ways in the saddle. However, in a time trial or triathlon, it most commonly occurs from a lack of access to your shift levers. For example, with mechanical groups, when you're taking the final corner, approaching 300 meters to the line, you're either stuck in gear or stuck in the extensions. Not the case with the Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 ST-9071 11-Speed TT Brake/Shift Levers. These 9071 brake/shift levers act as both the primary braking source and the secondary shifting source. In fact, the shift buttons themselves are actually Shimano's 9070 Satellite shifters. Still scratching your head' Basically, these aren't meant for your extension bars. Instead, they mount to the ends of your bull horns, or outer bars, providing the ability to shift during hard exertions out of the corner, driving to the line, and climbing. If you're not familiar with Satellite shifters, you probably know them better as the 'top secret' sprinter shift buttons that Cavendish was subtly flaunting a couple of seasons back. But, unlike those, these levers opt for a more pronounced surface area, making shifting a thoughtless, fully-intentional affair. Dwarfing all other advancements to the ST-9000, however, is the shifting itself -- this is where Shimano's 'Rider-Tuned' philosophy really makes itself known. This is the title given to Shimano's campaign of providing you the best rider-experience of your life. Throughout the group, every component has been given little custom touches, but the levers have received several. Addressing the 7970 complaint of dirt, grime, snow, or water getting into the small crevice between the lever and the hood, Shimano has narrowed this area, nearly eliminating the possibility of element corruption. Even more impressively, 9070 now enables you to select five different shifting speeds to the rear derailleur. And while this is...

Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 ST-R9150 11-Speed Shifters Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 ST-R9150 11-Speed Shifters
As the rest of the industry scrambles to catch up, Shimano's Di2 groupsets continue to set the standard for precise electronic shifting with nearly endless customizability. The release of 9150 is the next evolution of Di2, bringing slightly updated aesthetics and even better shift functionality to your next ride. The Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 ST-R9150 11-Speed Shifters sit at the helm of your cockpit to drive precise shifts exactly when you need them. The hoods take on a similar shape to 9070, but with a few slight tweaks for improved comfort when your hands are on the hoods. Made from a dual-compound rubber composite, the low-volume hood design retains the slightly perforated form of 9070 and makes lever accessibility easy. The lever blades and paddles see an outward curve and feel that's slightly more pronounced than in the prior generation, which makes for a more positive interaction from either the hoods or drops. Shimano also incorporates a more noticeable "click" feeling when shifting, which addresses the almost too-stealthy shift feel that was one of the few complaints we've fielded about previous Di2 systems. Aside from those tweaks, the Dura-Ace 9150 shifters deliver the precise, swift gear changes we've come to expect from Di2. Shimano even claims that this version might even be a little bit faster, but frankly, we have a hard time qualifying that claim when we're out on the road. Both shifters allow a customizable shifting experience dialed to your riding style and requirements, including the ability to dump through multiple gears--or even the entire cassette--with one shift movement. And for the proverbial icing on the cake, when paired with the new 9150 rear derailleur, these shifters are now capable of performing shifts up to a 30t cog on the cassette.

Shimano Dura-Ace ST-R9100 11-Speed STI Shifters Shimano Dura-Ace ST-R9100 11-Speed STI Shifters
For Dura-Ace 9100's redesign, it was only fitting for Shimano to update its ST-R9100 11-Speed STI Shifters alongside the reworked front and rear derailleurs. When it unveiled Dura-Ace 9100, Shimano subsequently gave a nod of solidarity to double cranksets and mechanical shifting for road. Rather than stubbornly refusing to let traditional standards die, Shimano demonstrates these technologies' ability to transition into the future. Sure, a few of us at Competitive unabashedly love the soul of mechanical shifting, but with the crispness, precision, and sinewy curves of the new R9100 Shifters, the system makes the argument for itself. Shortening up the lever stroke and updating the internal shifting unit were first on the list for the shifters' upgrades, and Shimano succeeded admirably at what it does best: creating incredibly reliable, functional componentry. Quick taps deliver smooth, effortless shifts along the cassette and crankset compared to 9000, whether you're mashing down on the pedals in a race or out for a Sunday hill climb with your ride crew, which places Dura-Ace 9100 at the zenith of mechanical shifting. Shimano waved its meticulous wand over the brake levers as well, achieving improved hand/lever interaction by carving the lever blades into a more sinuous, contoured shape. This shape enhances braking leverage in a decidedly European style not previously seen from the more utilitarian brand, giving you the ability to shave, rather than dump, speed on serpentine descents from the hoods as well as the drops. Further, the brand cleaned up the hoods, sculpting them into a smaller, more organic shape that enhances both rider comfort as well as the groupset's already classy aesthetics.

Shimano Saint M820 Trigger Shifter Shimano Saint M820 Trigger Shifter
While the component pieces of Shimano's Saint groupset occasionally earn supremacy over their Zee counterparts by dint of weight loss alone, the Saint M820 Trigger Shifter stands head and shoulders above the Zee model. This is, admittedly, just our opinion, but we're also confident that the Saint shifter's ball bearing operation and ability to shift up two gears at once make a huge difference while punching out of terrain features. The Saint M820 Shifters also carry their weight against the previous iteration, with both triggers making noticeable gains in length and the thumb lever requiring a claimed 37% less force to initiate shifts. While we haven't run clinical tests to verify that claim, on-trail experience tells us that the action is lighter and more responsive.

Shimano SC-MT800 Di2 Digital Display Unit Shimano SC-MT800 Di2 Digital Display Unit
After you've finished setting up your enduro dream-machine to run on Shimano XTR or XT Di2, you don't want to spend your ride staring through your legs every few miles to see where you are on your cassette when you could be rallying through the rock garden in front of you. Shimano developed its SC MT800 Di2 Digital Display Unit to keep you informed with a quick glance, displaying battery level, which gear you're in, shift mode, and your FOX iRD suspension position on one small screen. You can also adjust your derailleurs from the unit and turn on audible shift notifications and Synchronized Shifting if you'd like. Always efficient, Shimano made sure to arrange the screen so that you won't need to stare at a mini computer on your bars, with the SC-MT800 clipping neatly onto your bar ends and providing 3 E-Tube ports through which to route your cables. With wireless Deore XT Di2 now available, Shimano made sure to make the SC-MT800 wireless compatible with ANT+ and Bluetooth, so you can use it with any other mobile accessories you take along on your ride.

Shimano SC-MT9051 Di2 Digital Display Unit Shimano SC-MT9051 Di2 Digital Display Unit
With its SC-MT9051 Di2 Digital Display Unit, Shimano ushers its off-road electronic groupset into the wireless realm. The SC-MT9051 is Bluetooth compatible, so it displays all of the drivetrain information of its wired predecessor, the SC-M9050, but without the inconvenience of wired connections. It still enables Synchro Shift, but it now also lets you customize and fine-tune the Di2 shifting system wirelessly--once again courtesy of its Bluetooth connection. The rapidly evolving world of electronic drivetrains can be confusing, compatibility-wise, so we'll help walk you through it. The SC-MT9051 is compatible with Shimano's BT-DN110 battery. It does also work with the SM-BTR2 battery, which is the previous Di2 battery built for the SC-M9050, but doing so negates the Bluetooth functionality and eliminates Synchro Shift. Given those limitations, we recommend only pairing it with the BT-DN110 battery.

Shimano SLX SL-M7000 Trigger Shifter Shimano SLX SL-M7000 Trigger Shifter
For Shimano's new SLX drivetrain, even the trigger shifters received some of the magic dust Shimano sprinkled across the affordable groupset as it transformed it from a workhorse 10-speed drivetrain to componentry resembling Shimano royalty. Shimano knows trickle-down, and it delivered features from XT to SLX to bring it up to 11-speed greatness. SLX deserves all of the attention each of its shiny bits have received from the glossies, from the new brakes right down to the SLX SL-M7000 Trigger Shifter. Now featuring a sleeker design that's been molded to better fit the hand, the shift levers also come with a longer body that allows for quicker shift initiations when you're focusing on blasting through an approaching rock garden. When you throw the levers, the stainless steel shift cable's OPTISLICK coating helps it engage faster, with less effort, and the levers allow you to downshift up to three gears in one stroke. You can also choose whether you want to use your thumb or index finger to release gears depending on which is easier given the terrain. All of these changes collectively resulted in a reduction in shift effort of around 20%, according to Shimano, which makes a difference when you're trying to keep pace on an exhausting, challenging trail. Please note that this version comes in Shimano's impressive I-Spec II mount option, previously only offered on XT, which is incredibly simple to install, and offers a huge range of adjustability once mounted.

Shimano Ultegra 6800 Groupset Shimano Ultegra 6800 Groupset
Ultegra has long been the workhorse group in Shimano's road lineup. But there is also beauty in strength, functionality, and fortitude. Shimano did not just rename the 6700 tier, however. Instead, just as the Dura-Ace groupset was completely redesigned for the 9000 series, so too has the Ultegra 6800 line been given a similar makeover so that it mimics the 11-speed functionality and aesthetics of its older sibling. Beginning with the most visible and noticed portion of the groupset, the ST-6800 levers feature a refined hood shape. They borrow the look and feel of Dura-Ace 9000, which, in turn, borrow their aesthetics from the venerable Di2 levers. The new design allows for improved grip and comfort, combined with crisper shifting. The hoods are molded from a dual-compound rubber composite. Below the hoods you'll find a sleek carbon lever with a more exaggerated outward curve than on the 6700. This makes for a more pronounced interaction with your hands from either the hoods or drops. Ten millimeters of reach adjustment for the levers accommodates a large variety of hand sizes and shapes. Although the redesign of the shifters is eye-catching, Shimano's "Rider-Tuned" philosophy is what gives the newly redesigned Ultegra such a solid rider experience. "Rider-Tuned" is the philosophy of providing added touches throughout the group, such as a shortened lever stroke. This shortened lever stroke increases the speed with which your shift moves up or down the chainrings and cassette. Moving through the drivetrain, the redesign of the front derailleur matches the new shorter stroke lever action of the shifters. To achieve this, Shimano had to revise the actuation ratio and pull yet another page from the Dura-Ace manual. The derailleur body was given a more heightened profile, with the leverage point at the top of the body. This creates a larger pull arm with more leverage, which strengthens the pull and eases the actuation, and thus lessens the shift stroke. In a simi...

Shimano Ultegra 6800 STI Shifters Shimano Ultegra 6800 STI Shifters
Shimano Ultegra has always been the groupset of choice for riders who prefer bombproof durability over the latest in carbon. But, what those riders also know is that Ultegra is always privy to the latest advancements in the venerable Dura-Ace group. The Ultegra 6800 is no exception. Taking its cues from the Dura-Ace 9000, 11-speed group, the STI shifters see a significant leaning toward the engineering and aesthetic of its older sibling. The bulkiness of the old Ultegra shifters has been replaced with a slimmer, dual-compound rubber composite hood and streamlined carbon fiber levers. This means improved grip on the hoods as well as more reliable shifting. Additionally, they now have 10mm of reach adjustment to ensure the perfect fit for most hand sizes. As far as the shifting, Ultegra has upped Shimano's "Rider-Tuned" philosophy a notch. To begin with, the lever stroke has been shortened by almost 13%. This means that you won't have to push as far to make the gear change. Using its Vivid Index Technology, the effort to downshift is now as smooth as to move the gears up. This is done not only through careful design of the Ultegra 6800 STI mechanism itself, but also through the incorporation of Shimano's polymer-coated shifter cables that reduce drag.

Shimano Ultegra Di2 Remote TT Shifter Set Shimano Ultegra Di2 Remote TT Shifter Set
While electronic shifting has several advantages for road bike, the advantages are even greater for TT bikes. Of course perfect shifting, no more dropped chains, and the lack of moving, oddly routed cables and housing are advantages for everyone. But the big difference between TT and road bike shifting is hand position. Not only is shifting on aero bars awkward and inconvenient, but there is a moment while you're grip is changing that's actually kind of dangerous. Shimano Ultegra Di2 Remote TT Shifters change all that with the touch of a button. Instead of adjusting your hand position on the bar, you simply touch the shifter button with your thumb, and it gives you a perfect shift every time. No more friction. No more cable adjustments. No more scary, out-of-control moments.

Shimano XT Di2 SW-M8050 Shift Switch Shimano XT Di2 SW-M8050 Shift Switch
While it's not the star of Shimano's electronic shifting platform, the fact that the XT Di2 SW-M8050 Shift Switch isn't hamstrung by the constraints of pulling cables means that--like with the XTR version--Shimano was able to build it with nothing but ergonomics in mind. Specifically, your ergonomics. The shift paddles can be customized to how you like them rather than forcing you to contort your digits to whatever design allowed the engineers to tease out the best mix of low weight and cable pull efficiency. Though they're not actually pulling cable, Shimano builds the levers to provide tactile feedback on activation much like an indexed shifter. This is especially necessary on the XT version because it's part of a drivetrain that's meant for trail and all-mountain abuse whereas XTR is built primarily for XC racing. The increments in shifting are programmable through the E-Tube platform, and--if you're so inclined--you can run a single shifter with a double drivetrain and let Shimano's Synchronized Shifting feature manage your front shifts to keep you spinning optimally.

Shimano XT SL-M8000 I-Spec II Trigger Shifter Shimano XT SL-M8000 I-Spec II Trigger Shifter
Borrowing much of its technology from creme de la creme XTR shifters, the Shimano XT SL-M8000 I-Spec II Trigger Shifter offers the razor-sharp shifts and ergonomic feel of its racier brother, but at an affordable price that only sacrifices a few grams. Despite being friendly on your wallet, the M8000 Shifter commands precise gear shifts with the astounding durability known to Shimano's XT M8000 group. This particular version benefits from its I-Spec II integrated mounting system, which cleans up your cockpit with the use of newer XT and XTR brake levers. This clean mounting system also saves a couple of grams while increasing the range of angular adjustability to your particular liking. Shimano designed the M8000 to command control over the wide range of gears found on their newest 11-speed drivetrains. It's revamped with a longer lever body for easier shifting with less force required to initiate the shifting mechanism. The anti-slip surface on the main lever improves tactile feel while lessening the likelihood of slipping out when critical shifts are needed in demanding terrain. These features, combined with a new shift cable covered in a low-friction coating, create a 20-percent reduction in force required for gear shifts. Ultimately, this translates to less fatigue of your fingers while you're riding for hours on the trail. For even better shifting, the M8000 features two-way release that permits you to shift the upper lever with either your thumb or index finger, depending on where your hands are situated on the bars. Multi-release functionality provides the ability to shift through multiple gears with the single sweep of a lever while the instant release design ensures the proper gear is selected the instant you throw the lever.

Shimano XT SL-M8000 RapidFire Trigger Shifter Shimano XT SL-M8000 RapidFire Trigger Shifter
Shimano shows that it's earned its reputation for generous trickle-down by taking a big chunk of technology from XTR and dropping it into the 11-speed XT drivetrain. Components like the XT SL-M8000 RapidFire Trigger Shifter goes nearly toe-to-toe with its older brother but with a more wallet-friendly price. Despite the turn towards economy, the M8000 Shifter still commands precise gear shifts that will deliver you smoothly through the most harrowing terrain. Shimano designed the M8000 to shepherd the XT line into the modern age of 11-speed design. It's got a longer lever body to provide riders with more space to aim for when shifting and requires less force to engage the shifting mechanism. An anti-slip surface on the main lever improves dexterity while lessening the likelihood of slipped fingers when making crucial shifts on hot summer days. These features, combined with a new shift cable covered in a low-friction coating, lead to a claimed 20% reduction in force required for gear shifts, which translates to less hand fatigue and more hours out on the trail. To make things even better, the M8000 features two-way release shifting permitting you to shift the upper lever with either your thumb or index finger depending on where your hands are on the bars. Multi-release functionality lets you shift through multiple gears with a single lever sweep to quickly adjust to drastic changes in trail grade, and the instant release design helps to ensure you get the gear you want as soon as you throw the lever.

Shimano XTR Di2 SW-M9050 Shift Lever Shimano XTR Di2 SW-M9050 Shift Lever
While shift levers tend to get the most attention in mechanical drivetrains, Shimano's XTR Di2 SW-M9050 Shift Levers aren't the real headliners. That honor falls to the derailleurs. The shifters are just the messengers, serving as intermediaries between you and the solenoid situated in the derailleur, which actually drives the shift. Still, the levers do benefit from some classic Shimano R&D attention in order to ensure that the messenger delivers its missive quickly and accurately so the derailleur can do its work. In effect, the SW-M9050s are the middle managers of the most -- for lack of a better word -- perfect shifting we've ever experienced on a mountain bike. The levers' most appreciated technology, ominously titled Firebolt, is the cycling equivalent of being a trail-destroying sorcerer; but instead of eliminating terrain with fire balls from your fingertips, you'll use Firebolt to shift with magically effortless precision -- even while navigating the funkiest terrain. The ergonomic placement of the lever paddles keeps this unnatural power right at your fingertips. The shift paddles' feedback is also a selling point, as there's a noticeable click when you shift. One of our few critiques of Shimano's road Di2 groups is that the subtlety of the shifters' action means there's no positive feedback. Not so with XTR's Di2. When you shift, you know it. As with other Shimano Di2 bits, the XTR SW-M9050 levers are compatible with Shimano's rust-, stretch-, freeze-, and generally worry-free E-Tube wiring system. Its modularity makes it easy to set up on virtually any frame, though it does cohabitate with less friction when the frame is built with Di2 in mind.

Shimano XTR SL-M9000 Trigger Shifters Shimano XTR SL-M9000 Trigger Shifters
If you're thinking of moving up to 11 speeds, the Shimano drivetrain gives you reliability and shifting prowess. Its XTR SL-M9000 Trigger Shifters perfectly complement the derailleurs for a fuss-proof shifting system. While the primary aesthetics of the XTR triggers remain largely unchanged from the last XTR model, the materials have changed a bit. The thumb shifter is now carbon fiber and the trigger is coated with a textured finish to increase grip. The internals received a bit more of a makeover. Using VIVID index, each shift is reduced in effort by nearly 20 percent, while at the same time the shift action itself feels more positive. Ball bearings are used as guides and polymer-coated ultra-low-friction cables have been added. So that you're able to configure your shifting exactly the way you like it, the shifters are sold separately in either left or right hand versions. Please order one of each if you'd like a matching set.

SRAM Force 1 HRD Brake Lever & Flat Mount Caliper SRAM Force 1 HRD Brake Lever & Flat Mount Caliper
The SRAM Force 1 HRD Brake Lever & Flat Mount Caliper sets the trend for powerful braking and precise shifting at a more affordable price point than its top-tier Red counterpart. Force 22's functionality rivals that of Red, and swaps out the full carbon levers and titanium hardware for a carbon brake lever, aluminum shift lever, and stainless steel hardware that may tack on a smidgeon of weight but also saves your bank account a bundle. Force 22 HRD boasts the versatility to manage a rapidly rising flood of disc-equipped road, gravel, cyclocross and all-road machines. While the lever hood aesthetics may not appeal to everyone, we've found the additional height to be surprisingly functional when traversing the less traveled of roads. Navigating steep descents and chattery surfaces are a breeze with that bit of extra leverage and grip, which also nearly eliminates the possibility of your hands getting thrown forward off the hoods after a shocking encounter with a pothole hiding under smooth, loose gravel. The Force 22 HRD levers incorporate the adjustability and smooth shifting functionality we've come to expect from all of SRAM's higher end offerings. A slight redesign from the original version sees a more comfortable hood-top hand positioning, which is much appreciated on long gravel epics and through particularly tricky 'cross course segments. Adjustable reach accommodates a variety of hand sizes so you can further dial in the comfort, and a low initiation force makes for easy lever actuation and leaves more energy to drop into the pedals. The post-mount calipers' two-piston design is specifically engineered to handle the rigors of cyclocross, which transfers effortlessly into confident brake performance on the road, gravel, and any other surface you see fit for skinnier-tire adventuring. Featuring stainless steel backed organic pads, these calipers are designed to pair with separately sold 140mm or 160mm Centerline rotors to deftly tackle the fast speed chan...

SRAM Force 22 Groupset SRAM Force 22 Groupset
When SRAM's Red groupset was released in a 22-speed version, it was only a matter of time before that technology started to trickle down to the more cost conscious offerings. And we're happy to report that the SRAM Force 22 Groupset has the same crisp shifting and sublime ergonomics that make Red so drool-worthy, without the top-of-the-line price tag. The big story here is SRAM's "True 22" drivetrain system, which was based around the idea that one should be able to use every gear in their drivetrain. The front derailleur is a key component in achieving this, as it's been graced with Yaw technology, which allows it to pivot as it shifts, which moves the cage out of the chain's path when the drivetrain is cross chained. The rear derailleur has a redesigned B-knuckle, which adds clearance for 28t cassettes. As ever, both are controlled by SRAM's double tap shifting, which has a light shifting feel and precise gear changes. The crankset retains a similar form to the 10-speed version, but the chainrings have been enhanced for delay-free gear changes, even under power. It's a similar story when considering the cassette. Beyond adding another gear, the tooth profiles and gear spread have been carefully considered for lightning-fast shifts. The carbon fiber crank arms are highly efficient, and turn a super-stiff 24mm aluminum spindle. The brakes remain unchanged, and still produce gobs of clamping force thanks to the dual-pivot design. This kit includes an English threaded bottom bracket. The SRAM Force 22 Groupset is available in three crank lengths, from 170mm, to 175mm, with either a compact 50/34, or standard 53/39 chainring configuration, and either an 11-25, or 11-28 cassette.

SRAM GX Trigger Shifter SRAM GX Trigger Shifter
GX 2x11 Trigger Shifters bring many of SRAM's high-end 11-speed technologies into the realm of the affordable and work with its huge 10-42 cassette. This includes the new X-Actuation that keeps shifting precise and dependable across the cassette. Like the Exact-Actuation ratio for its 10-speed road group, SRAM has deviated from its bread-and-butter, 1:1 pull ratio. GX uses SRAM's cable-pull ratio system to deliver a more uniform and accurate derailleur movement, with less applied force required from the user. The shifter also comes with a MatchMaker-compatible clamp in order to simplify accessibility and to create a clean aesthetic by placing your Avid or Guide levers and RockShox PushLoc suspension controls on the same clamp with your shifters.

SRAM R2C 22-Speed Carbon TT Shifter Set SRAM R2C 22-Speed Carbon TT Shifter Set
The title of the SRAM R2C 22-Speed Carbon TT Shifter Set is pretty self-explanatory, except maybe the 'R2C' part. Of course, that's the part that really sets these shifters apart from the competition. R2C stands for 'Return to Center'--the 2 just makes it look cooler on paper. It means that after every shift, the shift lever returns to its original position. That's important because each shift requires exactly the same movement, without any awkward hand position adjustments. That center position is also adjustable, so you can start each shift exactly where you want to. The shift levers are made from carbon fiber to reduce weight and increase stiffness. SRAM designed the shifters to require the minimum possible amount of movement to complete a shift. The R2C 22-speed shifter set is designed for use with double front chainrings and an 11-speed cassette.

SRAM Red Shifters SRAM Red Shifters
Part of SRAM's exceptional Red Gruppo, SRAM Red Shifters close the gap between man and machine with lightning-quick shifts and unparalleled ergonomics. Everything about these shifters has been scrutinized, from the grip texture of the hoods to the separated actuation of brake and gear change operation. They work with SRAM's 11-speed drivetrain and Yaw derailleur found in the Red and Force double groups, giving you the ability to use all 22 gears, even while cross-chaining. Carbon ErgoBlade levers allow for such snappy gear changes, you'd swear they're operating on telepathy. The key to their near-instantaneous shifting lies within SRAM's ZeroLoss technology, which engages the cable instantly without any middle-ground or lag period. This results in zero time spent waiting around for the shifters to do their job, allowing you to burst out of sweeping bends in a higher gear or instantly ease your aching knees on steep climbs with a lower selection. Another superlative feature comes in the form of SRAM's DoubleTap shifting actuation. This unidirectional shifting action allows for both down and upshifts with the push of a single lever, eliminating the need for two cumbersome levers on the up and downshift. Different levels of force separate the actuation between up and downshifting capability, giving you a more intuitive way to shift. Braking is separate from shifting, so you won't have to worry about inappropriately squeezing the brake lever while shifting or shifting accidentally while squeezing the brake lever. Innovative cable routing gives you the ability to cleanly run the cable both inside and outside of the bars, so you can choose the routing that meets your bar preference. Another feature tailored to your specific needs, the independent reach adjust for both the brake and shift levers means you won't have to strain your hands during braking and gear changes. Please note, the Red Shifters include a low-friction cable and housing kit for both derailleurs.

SRAM Rival 22 ZeroLoss 11-speed Shifters SRAM Rival 22 ZeroLoss 11-speed Shifters
Ideally, shifting is one of those things you hardly even notice, but experience tells us all that isn't always the case. Things get out of whack, drivetrains get worn, and all of a sudden it's a battle to get into the right gear, generally when your need to shift is most pressing. SRAM's ZeroLoss technology provides instant reaction from your shifters and cables, so there's no lag time between pulling a lever and changing gears, and it automatically adjusts trim to ensure smooth, quiet drivetrains that feel just about perfect. DoubleTap shifting, cribbed from SRAM's top-shelf Red groupset, makes for short, quick shifts, and SRAM's reach adjust design lets you move the levers closer to or farther from the bars to suit your hand size. The aluminum levers are light and tough, and SRAM designed them with two different cable routing options, so you can run cables along the inside or outside of your bars for a streamlined look and killer efficiency.

SRAM XX1 Trigger Shifter SRAM XX1 Trigger Shifter
SRAM's XX1 group undoubtedly changed the face of mountain biking, perhaps forever. The XX1 Shifter is the power center for the group, and employs the X-Actuation cable pull ratio that makes all SRAM one-by derailleurs move.
